Where to stay in Sichuan Province
Sichuan Province hotels & accommodations
As someone who has stayed in a lot of hotels in China, this is easily one of the best. The service staff is friendly and attentive, especially Steven Liu. Communicating with them in English was easy and convenient. Upon arrival to the property Steven helped us check in without any issues. The location could not be better, walking distance to the Sichuan Museum, Tianfu...
Fraser Suites is located in downtown Chengdu which taxi drivers should know the place very well. 5 min walking distance to Tian Fu Square Metro station which is the interchange station for both Metro Line 1 and Line 2 in Chengdu, one station to ChunXi Road, two stations to RenMin Park, 3 or 4 Stations to Raffles City (Sichuan Gymnasium Station)etc which is really conve...

This luxury resort provides good amenity and make guest feel calm. It is located near Qing Cheng Mt. There are wonderful alternatives ;brand new panda valley, Dujiangyan and Jiezi old town. It takes 15~20 mins by taxi. Also you can enjoy yourself in the resort by walking through with fresh air and amenity. Swimming pool is spacious. You can enjoy Chinese Sichuan food i...
Being a frequent traveller in China, I have since long grew tired of old, tired and run down "5 star hotels" that probably bought the last 2 stars in the ranking. Especially in second-tier cities like Chengdu, even big brands like Sheraton or Kempinski can be surprisingly bad. Hence, Rhombus was a great and fresh surprise! The decor is smart, staff fluent in English...
Kempinski has long been one of the best hotels in Chengdu for its convenient location - 20-minute drive from the airport and a subway station just 200m away. Room size and property maintenance is good but: (1) there is a car-park gate in front of the hotel entrance so taxi drivers are reluctant to drive in and tend to drop you off outside the main road. Though 50m away...
Breakfast spread is really good-many local Sichuan dishes, salad, fruits, dim sum, pastry, yogurt, etc. Special thanks to the very friendly hotel staff Vivi who proactively offered help when I faced issue buying ticket online. She is also very helpful in many other ways. Thank you very much, Vivi. Other staff I met at both restaurant and hotel are all very helpful ...
Great location to attend trade shows at the convention center and about 20 minutes to the airport and city center. Chengdu isn't a very big city and traffic is reasonable, so you can get anywhere fairly quickly. The rooms are clean and spectacular with amazing 5 star hotel finishes. Lots of food options in the mall next door.
I was at The Temple House for 2 nights for a business trip. Being a relatively new hotel, the taxi driver couldn't pin point it's location and made a call to the front desk. Upon arrival, it was assuring to see a couple of staff from the hotel rushing out to greet us in the late night offering their assistance. The hotel has a great oriental modern design vibe. There a...
staying in a small more relaxed hotel that was not a tower block and oozed charm added a more authentic aspect to our stay in chengdu. set back from the street and built in the local architectural style with the rooms around a courtyard enclosing a four headed buddha and a water feature it was peaceful after the noise and traffic of the city. the surrounding but q...
Owing to my daughter wanting to spend time at the Paradise water park, we booked the intercontinental for one night. Had chosen a panoramic view room so she could enjoy the view. On checkin, since the room was not available, we got a free upgrade. Service and staff were exemplary and unlike most other hotels in the city we have been at, they spoke enough English for u...
It was a wonderful experience staying at the Haiyatt Garden. The room was clean and has a lovely smell of freshness whenever I come back from a day's outing. I was there everyday for a good foot massage. The therapist are skillful. Great value for money. It was beyond my expectations. The breakfast spread was superb. The Concierge was helpful in making tour arra...
Excellent hotel - spacious room, nice design. I must commend the level of staff attentiveness - from the driver who picked me up at the airport and drove me to the panda place; and to the excellent concierge who accompanied me to the Sichuan opera by foot. And the wonderful spa! Tips. There is also a nice vegetarian restaurant near the hotel; and a local cinema.
This hotel overall is a 5 star hotel in its amenities and furnishings. However, after the day shift leaves, the evening and night staff cannot speak much English which can be a problem to guests. We booked a deluxe room and was upgraded to a suite. The furnishing and layout of the room was perfect. Could not have asked for a better deal.
I decided to stayed here 5 days even there were not so many reviews. As of 8/2012, the hotel is new and clean. Big breakfast with Chinese food and Sichuan cuisine. I had to deposit 500 yuan upon checking in, but that amount was returned in full when I check out.
Hilton ChengDu is in business since middle of 2015. near subway station, fiiendly staff, during our stay, my friend has some back pain, the staff tried her best to help us. Very appreciated.
It was money worth to stay in this hotel. We booked 4 rooms for 3 nights. The location was perfect - lots of shopping and restaurants behind/next to the hotel. The rooms were better than expected, the beds were comfortable and the breakfast was beyond our expectation for a 3 star hotel. The food was delicious coupled with good. well mannered staff from reception to ...
It is not easy to find a western-style breakfast on the mainland. In Chengdu, fortunately, the breakfast at the Sofitel Hotel is really impossible to challenge. A cup of ground coffee, delicious yoghurt, authentic French bread, bread pudding and French Bonne Maman jam are all wonderful. Of course, the hotel staff are well trained in service and are also important facto...
The staff were extremely helpful - organizing trips to the see the pandas as well as helping us navigate around the city. We do not speak Chinese so while it was tricky at times, they were very happy to help us with taxis and even finding appropriate dining venues (we also do not eat spicey food so this was a bit tough considering every restaurant was all about Sichuan...
My memories of the Holiday Inn are shaped by a stay in 1998 in Guangzhou - which was a terrible hotel. This time I booked the Holiday Inn more because it was located in the city centre than anything else, and went in expecting a 3 star, at best. It was a big surprise to find a really nice looking hotel, good lobby, nice rooms, good fittings and a pretty decent gym a...
Right at city centre and surrounded by many malls and restaurants. Very new and clean. Services from all front line staffs are very courteous and good. Starbucks just next door. Food from Man HO restaurant is delicious. Ambience of room is modern and serene. Price of room till food are reasonable. Highly recommended
Classic, long lasting for decades as THE place to stay in central Chengdu. Having toured this property 3 yrs prior, and noted the elegant, unique dining room, when a "special" for room w/buffet breakfast, at 1/4 the "normal" price, was offered, I immediately booked two "special treat" nights. Chengdu's Jinjiang Hotel is the equal to, in some cases, exceeds NYC Plaza H...
We have stayed at least 3 times in the last month and found the hotel consistently perfect. Beds are extremely comfortable and rooms are well appointed and housekeeping is flawless. Staff is genuinely helpful, they helped us change our dates without any hassle when we had issues with our flights and helped us book train tickets as we had difficulties with the Chinese s...
The hotel is within walking distance to the metro station. Line 2 and 3 are very convenient to reach most of the sightseeing spots. The hotel itself is located above a shopping center and is surrounded by many other shops, shopping centers and eateries. The staffs are professional and very helpful. The room is clean. The only thing is the room is a bit dated even thoug...
This is going to be a slightly long review as I will cover a few aspects. LOCATION - Very near to WenShuYuan MRT exit H. When you exit from Exit H, cross the road (at your exit there is a traffic light) and walk left. There is a stall which sells fruit at the last of your lane and turn right in and there is your hotel. Staff (I think is the manager is very rude. She...
Is the best hotel I stay in Chengdu, the room is clean, the location is good(5min walks to nearest subway), the hotel’s food is nice, the staffs also very friendly and helpful (especially Xiao min and Micheal) who will help us to solve the problem and arrange our schedule. Thanks a lot and let us have a nice and conformtable journey in Chengdu and Sichuan! Definetely w...
best place to stay in chengdu! so near to the metro (which was in a mall, silver), and so near to the shopping district. the staff spoke great english and were very friendly and attentive. they have an outdoor lounge area upstairs which was really nice... if the chengdu weather was not hazy and the nights dark. also, they have organised tours within the hostel, so i...
This apartment was a great find at a great price. The location was fabulous, close to a metro station and with a great upscale mall close by. Lots and lots of shops and restaurants within walking distance. The apartment itself was very nice, on the 37th floor with good internet, and the owner was very responsive when we had a special request. One small constructive...
My girlfriend and I stayed here while visiting Chengdu for a friend’s wedding. We were impressed the minute we walked in; the lobby was beautiful and smelled amazing. I wish I knew how they made it smell so good… The staff was super friendly and upgraded our room since there was vacancy in a nicer suite. They met our every need in a hurry, sending up a power adapter fo...
We had a really great stay at this hotel! It was well kept and very clean and tidy. The staff were incredible! The couple (?) who manage it speak very good English and are exceptionally helpful, they provided us with tips for the area and recommendations! Facilities are a 4 star because there is no fridge in the room, other than that, we could not fault the room! 5 sta...
Cheap places to stay in Sichuan Province
I had a 2 wonderful nights at Mix hostel, after long trip to another place I came back this hostel to stay 2 more nights because the kitchen is so great with specific dishes of Sichuan.
Convenient, clean and very helpful front staff. June always has the best smile and is so helpful. The rooms are clean. There are hot showers. Water hot and cold is refillable which is great because you can use your own bottle. Beds are comfortable. Location is closer to wenshu monastery which means that you need to either walk or take a short bus or train to the other ...
The humble hotel building has very nice interior and we were directly welcomed by the young staff which has got to be the best English speaking in all of Chengdu. The impression of the room was simply that it was more than what we had paid for with a big and comfortable bed, sofa, table. big bathroom, large balcony. Overall a very pleasant stay!
I stayed at Chengdu Lazy Inn's standard twin room (with ensuite bathroom) for total of 5 nights, initially with a friend and then by myself. The room was comfortable and clean, and the courtyard (with tea shop and flower shop) was pretty and quiet. We found it easy to get around, as the hostel was 5 mins walk from Bai Guo Lin (白果林)subway station (Line 2). Nice neighbou...
If you are looking for cheap accommodation, this is it. We booked for 3 nights, but stayed on another 3. No food at the hotel, but food shops are close by. Being along a major road, buses and taxis are ready available.
best place to stay in chengdu! so near to the metro (which was in a mall, silver), and so near to the shopping district. the staff spoke great english and were very friendly and attentive. they have an outdoor lounge area upstairs which was really nice... if the chengdu weather was not hazy and the nights dark. also, they have organised tours within the hostel, so i...
Booked 2 private twin rooms 2 nights. Spacious rooms air clean. Absolutely best experience for value. Facilities functional beyond expectation. Staff most courteous and helpful beyond call of duty... luggage assistance, personal company to train ticket depot, etc. First time in hostel, good memorable experience. Our gratitude to all the staff there, great job well done...
The location is close to metro station and good restaurants. Unlikely many hostels in China, It’s easy to spot this hostel from the street. There is a beautiful garden outside. The rooms are big and have enough space for 8 people and the rooms are clean. The shower is very good and hot. But the best of this hostel is the staff. The girls are sweetest ever. They all spe...
oh my god, i would say that this is the best hotel i went ever. not really considered luxurious five star hotel . but, it gives you the feel of homed. nicely decorated wooden room, having two wooden chairs just right close to the window. i wish that i could spend few weeks here. enjoy my lazy afternoon by having a cup of tea sitting by the coffee table just right to th...
I had lower expectation of the room condition for the price I paid. I booked a standard double room but they upgraded me free-of-charge to a triple room (with 1 queen-size bed and 1 single bed) upon check-in. I was surprised by the comfortable condition of the room/bathroom. The room is very clean and aircon was in good working order. The hot shower was adequate f...
Very warmly welcome. Excellent in services, host try to help us though they can’t understand English. Good location and comfortable accommodation in Riwa town
-no breakfast included, but Agoda booking said yes -location quite difficult to find, must go in via a path, which you can't see from the main street -no elevator, room start with first floor, so at least need to walk 1 level -room condition is good, just not enough lights, feel too dark -got laundry area, pay rmb10 to use the washing machine -near JinLi shopping stree...
yvonne was very helpful with tour bookings. this is not a 3-star hotel. the room was awful. i had a private room with heavy mildew in the bathroom. i poured shampoo on this to tolerate the odor for the four or five days there. a shelf had broken from the wall and metal strips stuck out from the wall. dangerous. paper thin walls with lots of nocturnal activity. location...
Mr. Panda was a very nice stop in our backpacking trip in China. We got a double room for 2 nights at a very affordable price, and we had everything we needed. Clean room, comfy bed, our own bathroom, kettle, hygienic stuff, and even drinking water in the lobby (not every hostel in China gives you this). The staff were kind (they do not speak english) gave us a map and...
it's been a very wonderful experience staying here, it's near to the biggest senic spot,Qionghai, acutually it is a lake. also, it is very easy to find a lot of delicious food around there. one more, it is near to the coach station. but the food in the hotel is a little bit expensive, a glass of lemonade cost me 18 RMB.
The personal is very friendly. Room was very clean and cozy.
The room was nice, it's large and has two large bed. If you are traveling with lots of people, I would recommend you this inn. The boss is a very nice man. The location is great too, the bus station is in front of the inn, you can also find lots of local restaurant nearby with cheap price, and there is also a mini-mart that open 24 hours with cheap price.
The downtown walking streets, the riverside bar street and Jinli tourist street -- each a twenty minute walk away. A couple of the desk workers speak good English -- and the staff at the Panda hostel speak English and are very knowledgeable about setting up tours and making travel arrangements. The neighborhood south of the hotel -- has several grocery stores, many r...
The boss forget my booking and as a result I was given a sub-standard room just next building. The room carpet was so dirty and the toilet stinks!!!!The TV reception was so poor!!! Even in peak season, there are adequate hotels in JiuZhaiGou. Therefore it is not necessary to book in advance except Labour day and National day.
It was a very good place to stay in Chengdu. I got here by taxi which cost around RMB 70. The room was spacious and clean. Above all, a helpful English speaking staff, her name is Sunny, gave us a lot of help when we had to book a taxi. Chengdu is not a big city so getting around by taxi is convenient. I also could find halal food around the hotel so it was great.
This is a special little hotel. Not just for the location (walking distance to bus station and attractions) and the clean, comfortable rooms - but mostly for the amazing service and hospitality we received from the owner/manager (?), Carrie. From the moment we walked in, she welcomed us like old friends, giving us her own "guided tour" of the region (by showing us the...
Staff showing much dedicate and helpful during arrival at mid-night time. Apartment outside seen obsolete and not renovate but inside apartment and rooms are more nicer and comfortable with basic facilities available. It is worth to rent for budget traveler and ease of traffic jam & much convenient suggested using the subway train system just outside the apartment with...
We need to extend our check out time because of our train schedule and we found the rate to be very reasonable. The staff were also very helpful.
Service is nice
No laundry service. And step can not english, But i like a room and table, clean, cheap. I want to stay here later.
7 Days Inn have many hotels throughout big cities in China. They all have the same standard and are easy to find when you arrive in big Chinese cities late at night. Located at both train and bus stations as well as other convenient areas throughout cities they are perfect for over night stays. The hotel's are clean, comfortable and well priced, but do not offer food. ...
the room was cleaning with hot water for shower, staff there are helpful, and it located on the mid of hill, with a pretty view in the morning (cloud sit around the hill).
I just needed somewhere to stay on a long layover in Chengdu and this place was perfect. The staff spoke very little English but tried their very best to help me and even provided me with a free taxi to the airport. The hotel is extremely good value for money and has everything you need. It is very close to the airport and is right in the town so is also suitable for e...
Good hotel in the area! No English spoken, but nice welcome. Good room, good wifi. The hotel is between the bus station and the touristic area. Decent restaurant. Our window couldn't be properly closed and the bathroom had no lock.
My stay was very good for my trip to JiuZhaiGou. I slept well the night I was there. It was nice and undisturbed. As a plus, the hotel was very close to the entrance of the Jiuzhaigou valley. I had a great time.

Breakfast good. Staff friendly. And the best restaurant for Sichuan food right next door. (With good beer and wine too)
Everything was great, I really enjoyed the stay there, especially the staff are so friendly and helpful... the service was thoughtful and considerate. However two things I'm not quite satisfiled: 1. When I booked on Agoda I chose a King Size bed room, but when I arrived I was told all the King Size bed room was booked out...so I was arranged to a twin room (I'm not su...
On arrival we had a very slow check in and a miss understanding of our booking of a baby cot and another bed for our children. They eventually upgraded us to a 1 bedroom room which was ideal for our little family. Don't bother booking a studio room if you have more than one child staying with you. Belle (from customer services) was very helpful during our stay with boo...
location is good for our purpose but different if the destination is for downtown.
i was in chengdu for many time and holiday inn was best choice there. it was excellent service, clean comfortable room, nice fitness center for my every day exercise. big choice of great dishes on dinner buffet for low price. i love live music every night in restaurant. also great choice of different restaurants in hotel. the location is great. nice view to the new che...
we made a booking for the business king bed room but it was overbooked on the day we checked in. in the end we managed to get a free upgrade to the suite. we love it the moment we stepped into the room. it is a neat and nicely furnished room (comes with the bedroom, study area, tea area and even a dinning room) and there wifi is even available. just stepped out ...
for this hotel,, everythings is good but facilities must have been more infomation for travelers
Hotel is located in the bustling JiuYanQiao side, close to the Sichuan University, the traffic is very convenient. Design of modern hotel, the room is not very big, but very comfortable, my wife liked it. The Most surprised us was that the hotel provides free bicycle hire services, in the afternoon we can ride a bicycle around the river. Hotel of India's staff is very ...
Recommended by our friend lives there. Hotel locates in the city center, walking distance to shopping mall, 30minutes drive to main touring spots like the giant panda park. Good price as a 4 star hotel. Nice staff helps filling my tea at breakfast.
The experience was pretty poor. They messed up my Agoda booking, the reception was not helpful at all (told us our booking doesn't exist and there are no room left). Eventually, the manager stepped in to clear up the situation and offered us free upgrade for 2 days until our room frees up. The hotel is still being renovated, a lot of constructions going on includin...
Nearby - 华新街, 指挥街, 春西路, 天府广场, 文书院 must go. Go to 指挥街 experience the 芙蓉国粹川剧秀。Best, must watch. Go to 华新街 try out the local Sichuan dishes at this "龙爪手" restaurant. Go to 2nd floor ask for package meal, serve with lots of local dishes in small serving. Pricing is pretty cheap and you can try alots of local dishes at a go. Go visit the Panda Breeding Place 熊猫基...
We arrived with two standard 4 star rooms booked but they apologised as the rooms were all sold out so they upgraded us at no extra cost for our initial one night stay to the superb 5 star Queen room which was simply superb (but very expensive of course). The bed was simply the most comfortable I have ever slept on. When we returned later in the week for our final 3...
I didn't enjoy my stay at this hotel. The wi-fi had very poor connectivity and speed. It was very difficult to do any work on my laptop. Also, the location is very remote. It's about 45 minutes from the airport although it is located in the shuangliu district. To buy water from a convenience store entailed a 1.8km walk from the hotel all the way to the main road where ...

best hotel i ever stay at, friendly service, but professional at same time, my stay at Westdon was short, only five days, i enjoy my comfortable room, to sum it all up, i had a great stay at this hotel
Staff do not speak English, so if you can't speak mandarin you will struggle. Rooms are clean and spacious. Easy access to the metro. Plenty of shops and restaurants around. There are 3/4 hotels and offices located in this building so be prepared to wait for the lift. Wifi is good. No room service or minibar available. But Starbucks is within walking distance. About 20...
Personel english skills should improve
Good food breakfast, nice room quiet. All the things I needed for rest.
i was looking for a cheap hotel near the technology zone (tianfu software park). this hotel has decent rooms, good restaurant, and good location as needed. however only a few members of staff can speak english (although there was always someone available), it has no gym, and room service menu is pretty limited. on the plus side, internet is free and reasonably fast, an...

When we booked the hotel we went for the value for money option. We saw this as a local run hotel and didn't expect much. But it certainly exceeded our expectation. The bell boy even refused the tips after sending our luggage to ...

The G60 Deluxe Suite that I checked into is spacious and well equipped with modern furniture. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distance to high end shopping district (太古里). It's my first time in Chengdu and lucky that I found this hotel in Agoda. The room, services and foods are great. Thank for the hotel staff here especially, Ms. Ning Wang Fen and Mr.Jack who help me a lot during the time I stayed here.
I extended a business trip to Chengdu to spend a weekend in the capital of Sichuan. I couldn't have chosen a better place than the Ascott. Everything from the location next to a seemingly brand new mall with a variety of dining options and close to subway to the extremely comfortable beds and the sufficiently equipped gym made my stay worthwhile and relaxing. I was visiting my grandparents who live at Sichuan University. I was raised in the US and prefer a western style of living (food and gym facilities/pool). Hotel delivered on all of the above and i even had the gym mostly to myself. With that said, the in room wifi connection could have been a little bit better. I'd be happy to recommend friends and family.
It's excellence choice for business travel if you dont mind the locality is 7 min drive distance to downtown. The hotel facility is fully equiped, very good environment & atmosphere. Perfect for honeymoon stay. I stay this hotel for 3 days and return to stay for another 4 days. I strongly recommend this superb 6 star hotel.
Had a 3d2n staycation in the hotel. We reserved a business room and they gave us a free upgrade during check-in. We only wanted to stay for the night of chrisas eve, but as soon as we arrived at the hotel, we liked it so much that we decided to extend one more night. The carpeted room was not very big, but just enough for two person to move around comfortably. However,...
We picked the Ritz-Carlton for our stay in Chengdu as it has a reputation for impeccable quality and we were not disappointed! From the moment we arrived to our departure the staff of this hotel exceeded all expectations. If we could give them 7 stars we would! The level of customer attentiveness, courtesy, service level and professionalism was a joy to see and toge...
Great hotel, bigest bathroom we had during our China trip. If youre brave we went to a local restaraunt to try Sichuan Hot Pot, recomended by concierge, just opp hotel. Hot wasnt the word, blew our heads off, we were toasted by people in there for being the only westerners. Hotel aranged a cab for us to visit the panda breeding centre & we also got a local bus to Les...
The hotel just changed ownership (Dec. 18, 2016) and is working out the kinks. For example, they say they have 5 restaurants but they only have 2. The food is delicious (excellent dumplings, mango salad, Kung Pao chicken) but somewhat complicated to figure out, even as a Mandarin speaker. Chinese restaurant smelled like smoke even though it is non smoking. The rooms...
The best hotel in pengzhou for westerners. The gentleman at the front desk reallly understood customer service. I can't say the same for the lady's.
Dinner in 33 floor, staff there all are very nice! They will try their best to assist you which makes me feel very comfortable! But reception staff is very cold, no smile at all! I booked here twice for friend but same situation, no smile , cold as winter!
This is a exceptional hotel - perfect ambience, great location, and high quality amenities. And on top of that, a nice, refined impression of staying in China. A traditional and authentic feeling. We loved our stay.
I was flying through Chengdu, didn't feel like sleeping in the airport and booked this hotel. The hotel staff were pleasant, checked me in, got me a taxi the next morning (4 hours later), prepared a breakfast to go (nothing special, but its the thought that counts) and had me on my way. Room was all I needed for my short stay. A little pricey for the amount of time I ...
