Where to stay in Ulaanbaatar Province
Ulaanbaatar Province hotels & accommodations

Several restaurants on site which was very convenient. A wonderful breakfast smorgasbord in the dining room, however, it did get a bit boring after a few days as it didn’t seem to change. Staff were extremely helpful, about anything within the hotel. However, they didn’t have much knowledge of tourist information in Ulaanbaatar. I think this is because most people vis...

Frankly, Springs is somewhat overpriced, but in fairness so is every other hotel in Ulaanbaatar. Rooms are clean, the beds are unusually comfortable by Asian standards, and the staff are extremely helpful and speak excellent English. The Korean restaurant on the 2nd floor operates independently of the hotel and should only be regarded as a last resort in, for example, ...

We traveled for business and stayed here one night. Hotel is clean, comfortable and functional. We stayed in standard twin room. Room was spacious, beds was very comfortable. Internet was fast. We did an online conference with my HQ. Business lunch in pub at the 16th floor was cheap and tasty. Receptionist recommended us to visit SPA. The spa was new, comfortable and...

A comfortable and enjoyable stay after a week camping in the desert. It is listed as a 5*, honestly, probably a strong 4*, however it is your best option in Ulaanbaatar. All staff, from Reception, to Room Service, to Butlers and Bell hops are polite and helpful. They gave our bags a clean as requested before sending them up to the room, and later, we took advantage of...

We booked the standard room with 2 single beds. The beds are a bit short for anyone over 6ft but we had comfortable sleep otherwise. Complete basic amenities and everything is quite clean. The staff were very helpful and efficient since we had several issues due to a snow storm when we were there. Close enough to a monastery (nice pics) and restaurants (plenty within...

The main reason I chose the Chinggis Khaan Hotel was that it had a swimming pool and sauna. I was very disappointed that they were closed for maintenance during my stay. The receptionist who I spoke to told me they would re-open next month, which meant I could not use them. The room was big and comfortable, but my toilet seat was partly broken. The room was clean, but ...

Though it is a bit far away from city centre, about an hour drive, there is a warm welcome from the staff. The room is spacious and very comfortable, clean and large window wall that you can enjoy the scenery of glassland just siting in sofa. The restaurant food is superb, we had tried three meals there and the horse head performance show after dinner. There is an Engl...

I booked this hotel through Agoda for its good review and value for money. Overall I had a peaceful and relax one night stay. It's value for money and good location within 10 mins walking distance to Chinggis Khaan Square where most of the shops and restaurants are located. There's no price indicated for the items in the minibar. The hotel management may want...

At a very reasonable price, Royal House provided true hotel service, nice additional facilities such as restaurant, bar, billiards (if you reserve) and weekend karaoke (karaoke is everywhere in Ulaanbataar, if you hadn't heard). The room was fabulous including a separate living room and comfortable bedroom. The only marginal area was the bathroom that was somewhat sm...

I booked twice so please check the other review as I won't repeat myself. Kaiser is the perfect base for a holiday in Ulaan Baatar and even when youre heading outside. i went to Khustain then to Terelj and the huge Chinggis Khan Monument at the "Golden Whip". Kaiser is perfect because it is set back from Peace Avenue so this is a quiet place to be, but it's easy to wal...

This is a spa center that happens to also have 7 hotel rooms. The room we stayed in was massive and had many amenities not typically found in UB hotels (Japanese toilet, fully stocked minibar, big screen TV, in-room breakfast) and at very reasonable prices. After spending 2 weeks in different ger camps every night, this was a welcome respite. And I haven't even mention...

I was incredibly impressed with this hotel. It is located near the railroad station and a staff member met us at 5am with a free ride back to the hotel. They proceeded to let us check into our rooms early and even gave us breakfast that first day. This exemplary customer service continued throughout our stay. All of the staff was friendly, helpful, and went above and b...

The Gers were well kept, cozy, and comfortable. They arranged for a driver to pick us up in Ulaanbatar so we didn't have to worry about finding it. There is a little lodge where they serve meals and ask you in advance to select something from the menu. Everything we ordered was delicious. The only thing I will say is we asked for a horse ride and it was a pony walk acr...

Although the price is quite cheap, but you will get what you pay for. I stayed in a double room, which seemed very old, and I had to share a bathroom with other people on the floor, and all toilets(two) are broken, and nobody tried to fix them. Shower room sucks too. If I go back to Ulaanbaatar, I will pay little more and stay in a better hostel. (bunk beds room seemed...

Highly recommend. With a very helpful & friendly manager Jaaga, pleasant courteous staff, along with very clean hostel and room; this all made an enjoyable stay in Ulaanbaatar. Close access to bus stops, restaurants and shops. Staff can tell you which bus for a visit to the Black Markets. These are worth a visit, but just be cautious & watch out for pick-pockets. Don't...

I didn't have a hard time choosing an affordable hotel in Ulaanbaatar. The moment I saw Zaya Hostel in the top search results and read its reviews, I was sold. And based on my personal experience, it was easy to understand why. Upon arriving, I was eagerly welcomed by its manager, Anand. He speaks great English and always checks up on the guests. He toured me first ar...

My stay at the Corporate Hotel was a very good one. The staff in particular is very helpful and speak very good English. Also the location of the hotel is good. We paid 80usd/day for a total of 8 days tour across the Gobi desert and central Mongolia and it was the time of our life. the hotel room was big and the bed was comfortable. my only complaint is the noise in this hotel, the hotel offers karaoke in one of the rooms upstairs so during the day you can hear people singing bad karaoke and in the night there are many clubs nearby which are blasting music until 3 or 4 am. so ask the hotel for a room not on the road side or you won't get much sle...

I was provided with two super single bed made the room spacious. walkway The lobby to the room is very inconvenient as there were many steps. Had to carry the luggage when walking the steps. On first day we lost our luggage when the plane arrived Mongolia. The host help us to call to the airline and arrange all our things of the baggage. How sweet it is! Also he care about the little smell of the room, he suggest us to move to his apartment. Actually the room is satisfied for us. It’s really nice hotel in Mongolia!

Wifi was intermittent. Room was clean and had all the necessities i needed. Room service was affordable and well made. Breakfast is a set menu, not buffet style. Only gripe, check in staff spoke very poor english, made it difficult to arrange taxi transport or ask questions about the locality.

I loved this hotel very much with their spacious apartment provided. There are 1 double bed room and a twin bed room, plus a common area with pantry, everything are so well prepared for their visitors. The apartment was well maintained as well. Though the location is a bit far from centre but it's another viewing angle for us to this city

A great stay here at the Guide Hotel. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were comfortable, basic, but perfect for what you needed. Took the train from ulaanbaatar to beijing. Good location near train station. About 3 km walk. Took a cab less than 5 mins. About 2000 turks. Service was decent, they claimed that I have cancelled the reservation which I did not. No hot water, has a water heater but not too hot either. Near the train station means the unrelentless sound of incoming train proves hard ...

H9 is right in downtown Ulaanbaatar, steps away from a Circle K (with ATM) and Orgil Supermarket. It has several restaurants in the same building, might have to exit the building for outside entrance. Steps away from a larger hotel that hosts conferences and the large square in downtown UB.

I was pleasantly surprised to experience a nice stay at the Ramada Ulaanbaatar Citycenter hotel. My only problem as a business traveler was that the apartment was never cleaned nor tidied up daily. They only do it once a week. Also they do not replenish the toiletries and water. Otherwise, everything was great, spacious, and it has a cafe and grocery store in its ground floor!

Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia, is a place where the past and present coexist in a spectacular fashion. As the cultural and economic heart of the nation, Ulaanbaatar is a vibrant city that offers travelers a unique blend of traditional nomadic lifestyles and modern urban experiences. The city is surrounded by stunning landscapes, including the majestic Bogd Khan Mountain, which provides a picturesque backdrop to the bustling streets below. From the moment you set foot in Ulaanbaatar, you’ll be captivated by its rich history, friendly locals, and the dynamic energy that fills the air.
One of the most fascinating aspects of Ulaanbaatar is its ability to showcase Mongolia's heritage while embracing contemporary influences. Here, you can explore traditional ger (yurt) settlements within the city limits, where nomadic families still practice their age-old customs. The juxtaposition of these traditional homes against modern skyscrapers creates a visual narrative that tells the story of Mongolia's evolution. Visitors can immerse themselves in the local culture by attending traditional festivals, visiting art galleries, and sampling authentic Mongolian cuisine at local eateries.
As you wander through the city, be sure to visit iconic landmarks such as the Sukhbaatar Square, a central hub where locals gather to socialize and celebrate national events. The square is flanked by impressive government buildings and offers a great starting point for exploring the city. Don’t miss the Gandantegchenling Monastery, where you can witness the spiritual side of Ulaanbaatar and perhaps catch a glimpse of the resident monks engaged in their daily rituals. Essential Travel Tips for Ulaanbaatar Adventures
Planning a trip to Ulaanbaatar? A few essential travel tips can help ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience. First and foremost, familiarize yourself with the local customs and etiquette. Mongolians are known for their hospitality, and a simple greeting in Mongolian, such as Sain baina uu (How are you?), can go a long way in making a positive impression. When visiting a ger, it’s customary to remove your shoes and accept any offered food or drink graciously. Understanding these small cultural nuances can enhance your interactions with locals and enrich your travel experience.
Another important aspect to consider is the weather. Ulaanbaatar is known for its extreme continental climate, which means that summers can be warm while winters are harsh and cold. The best time to visit is during the summer months from June to August when temperatures are milder, making it ideal for outdoor activities and sightseeing. However, if you’re looking for a unique experience, consider visiting in winter to witness the stunning snowy landscapes and participate in traditional winter festivals.
Lastly, pack wisely for your trip. Comfortable walking shoes are a must, as exploring Ulaanbaatar often involves a fair amount of walking. Don’t forget to bring layers, as temperatures can fluctuate throughout the day. A good camera is also essential to capture the breathtaking scenery and vibrant street life. With these tips in mind, you’ll be well-prepared for your Ulaanbaatar adventure!

This is the perfect season for outdoor activities, including hiking in the nearby mountains or exploring local festivals.
During the summer, don’t miss the Naadam Festival, which takes place in mid-July and celebrates the "Three Manly Sports" of wrestling, horse racing, and archery.
