Semplice e accogliente”

Camera molto pulita, fresca e luminosa con ventilatore. Accoglienza piacevole e personale molto gentile. Le camere sia con aria condizionata che con ventilatore ( a seconda del prezzo) si affacciano sul Mekong e sono dotate di un meraviglioso terrazzino coperto che invita al relax ed alla tranquillità . Sono a disposizione: una scrivania, una comoda amaca, un lettino con materassino e un altro lettino più grande anch'esso con un materassino. Bagno essenziale e molto pulito. Ci tornerei sicuramente :-)

Posto stupendo”

Don Khone è un isola tranquilla e fantastica la la guest house si affaccia sul Mekong con un tramonto da mozzafiato!! Il bungalow Basic ma con acqua calda e un balcone stupendo. Abbiamo prenotato 3 giorni ma abbiamo prolungato per altri tre. Racomandatissimo!!

Great experience! Quite and beautiful place on the Makong river”

The room was big with a 'terapy' balcony on the Makong river with two hamoks. We stayed here for 7 nights, lovely area and the owner Visay was very good to us - smile alot, like to help. He took us for a travel with his boat to see the sunset and also swimming (it cost money, but it worth it) The people around here were very nice also the dogs. Recommended!!

Great to chill - staff needs to step up their game a bit”

Great place. Comfy rooms. The staff is not 100% responsive - never got a reply to my requests about how to get there, they had given my room away before I arrived (to my friend so it turned out ok), and when asked "where should we eat" they could not point at any of the simple yet delicious eateries next door. Still recommend it, it's comfy and super nice and the hammock by the Mekong is an experience to have !

Great location”

Great spot to stay, my room (room 2) is a great size room, it has a queen bed and there is an alcove with a single bed. The mattress is super comfortable. Shower is good, you have hot water and then you have your balcony area, mine consisted of a day bed which was a double and a single as well as a hammock, really nice sitting out there in the morning and maybe the afternoon if not to hot.

I'm a full time traveller and have stayed in A LOT of places. I think Dokchampa is by far my favorite. Nothing can compete with the view from the room's balcony. I even slept out there. The river literally is below you. The bed is super clean and comfortable, with proper big pillows. There is a mosquito net. Honestly we barely saw any, but we were careful to keep the doors closed at night. I highly recommend staying here. It is heaven on earth. There are plenty of small shops and restaurants nearby. You can rent scooters or bicycles just down the road.

Recommended. We enjoyed the perfect location on Don Khone. Staff is friendly and now the rooms are A/C! It was a nice surprised since we were expecting a fan. Could not try the restaurant since it was closed because of the season.

Perfect location, large rooms with a view”

Family run guesthouse with 4 rooms over the Mekong. Each have private balconies with daybeds and hammocks and fantastic views of the sunset. Food is delicious and a great price. Rooms are basic, but beds are comfortable and all rooms have private bathrooms with hot water. Can't beat the price for what you get anywhere else on Don Khone.

This is pretty basic accommodation. Mind you, it is also inexpensive! The location on the water is charming. The problem is that the cooling is just by fan. This was not a surprise; the room was advertised as only having a fan (there is an air conditioner unit installed, but it was not working). But the room really needs cooling - there is no way to get a breeze blowing, and room temperature got up to 34 C some days. So at night it was stiflingly hot. The owners - who are very friendly and helpful - seem to be building new rooms next door. They are certain to have air conditioning, and would be great.

Basic accommodation which is absolutely enough ”

This is a basic accommodation but very lovely with the balcony to the river. I really enjoyed being on this island. The people are very friendly and keep everything clean and nice. Please be aware that these are simple houses and you will hear what is going on in the morning on the river. The other side of being that close. But you can also see the kids bathing in the river and enjoying themselves in the evening

We absolutely loved our stay here.After a mix-uo with our booking, Visay & Nin went out of their way to make it good . They are a lovely family.This is simple accommodation but clean and everything worked - especially the hammocks which we seriously road-tested daily. Enjoy!

Excepțional”

There are only four bungalows at this guesthouse, which makes it nice and quiet. They are right on the river, and we had air-con despite only booking a room with a fan. The rooms have a deck with table, hammock and chairs and was a really nice place to relax. Would recommend this place to get away from Don Det, with some nice restaurants nearby.

Nice bungalow on the river”

I loved my stay here. Eventually I stayed for 5 nights. Very nice bungalow at the river. Good beds, every bungalow has its own balcony with hammock and bed to chill at. Very friendly staff, they also run a restaurant where the guests can have free tea and coffee with their breakfast. Laundry service. I would recommend this place to have a few relaxing days.

Best stay on Don Khone”

Everything was really nice here. The owner family is very nice and friendly. They have some great kids with a super cute smile and always ready for some high five claps. The room was very clean and beautiful. The balcony as well. They have a hammock and also two more places where you can lay down. Towels and toilette paper was included. They have also a hot shower. Our room was equipped with fan and ac, so you were able to choose. But I think all rooms have the same. They have also a really nice dog called gege. I definitely write the name wrong. She is very cuddly. Normally they have also a restaurant but at our time in June it was closed. It looks like that they renovates it but we don't ask. Or maybe it was just closed because of low season. At the end we were really happy that we choose this place and had some wonderful days there...

Basic, but relaxed comfort with a quiet location”

It's a fan room, so expect it to be hot in late afternoon, but otherwise this place is a gem. It's quiet, at the far end of the village, only four rooms right on the water. The balconies with hammocks are so lovely I spent most my time here and the sunsets are stunning. I could watch river life without having to leave. The mosquito nets do the job. Bring bug spray. I would live here if I could.

Amazingly good value accommodation and brilliant food”

We stayed here for four nights, and could easily have stayed longer. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, with great river views from the verandah. The food was fantastic. Authentic Laos food. The best we had on our trip, with great flavours. Not made bland to suit 'Western' tastes. The steamed fish in banana leaves is to die for. The service is professional and friendly, and they can help with onward travel. We cannot recommend them highly enough.

Will stay there again ”

Maintenance and room service can/should be improved. The balcony right above the Mekong with a little table, a hammock and a deck chair is fantastic and the view is absolutely awesome. The double bed is big with a massive cozy mattress. The food at the restaurant is fantastic and the staff is alway very friendly and welcoming.

Basic accommodation but clean, amazing balcony out over the water with hammock and couch, perfect for lazing and relaxing. Bathroom a little dilapidated but everything worked and the water was hot. Excellent location.

Excellent with awkward bits”

The view was amazing. The bed was very comfortable. The sheets & towels were clean. The rooms were very clean. The hammock & seating On the balcony were the highlight for us. The restaurant was amazingly tastey. We loved everything we tried on the menu. The laundry we had washed was perfectly clean & smelt so good. The shower wasn't great & the toilet blocked. The staff consisted of a couple with 2 young children. The lady Nin was over worked, watching her children & cooking, cleaning & doing the laundry. Sometimes her sister helped with the cooking then she was left to clean up. Her husband got our order wrong a few times & seemed uninterested in helping the children or us. It was like they had to work but weren't enjoying it. Nin is excellent at all she does but there were obviously domestic problems which made it a bit uneasy for us at times.
