il don chan palace complessivamente e' un ottimo hotel ma non per normali turisti,lo consiglio solo per viaggi d'affari.molto pulito e ordinato,cibo fantastico e tutti molto cortesi, ma quasi nessuno parla inglese.gli spostamenti sono difficili a causa dell'assenza di taxi e per via dei prezzi elevati.riguardo all'hotel se non parlate laotiano o thai vi troverete in difficolta' perche' avrete poca assistenza da parte del personale comunque sempre cortese e disponibile.

It was comfortable stay”

We stayed here at the last day of our travel in laos for refreshing and taking rest. The staff at the reception was very kind and lovely. Air-conditioner, shower was ok also. There is bath tub for taking a bath also. But location is little bit far from main city and night market also. But close to center Mall. 10min by walk.

Relaxing”

My husband and I stayed four nights at the Don Chan Palace in Vientiane and it was lovely. We were in Room 1221 on the 12th floor overlooking the city. Even though we booked this hotel on Agoda as it said it was on the riverfront, it really is not. The river can be seen from the swimming pool area and that's about it. However, there aren't many negative things to say about this hotel. Check in and check out took less than 5-10 minutes as there was no one else. There was a variety of Western and Asian food for breakfast. The Malaysian chef was very friendly. The Head Chef was English and was new to the hotel. A few of the waitresses had a very poor command of English but they were very helpful. My husband and I loved the Lobby area as it is huge enough to do ballroom dancing. There is a cake and coffee shop in the Lobby area and it's very cheap. The hotel provides free shuttle bus every hour to the fountain area in town and picks you up at the same place. You have to book the shuttle bus to use it. It was the Laos Buddhist New Year while we were there and it was good of the Hotel Management to advise us to take care of our belongings when we went out as people were throwing water. If you like loud music and looking for a bar, there is one opposite the hotel called "April 12". We never went there but could hear the music thumping loud which stopped about midnight. The hotel is quite far from the downtown area which didn't bother us as Vientiane is very quiet and not too much to sightsee. There is a small restaurant adjacent to the hotel (when you cross the bridge and turn right) which serves great food. They have a bar in the restaurant as well. TIP: On your departure day, do not hire any taxis and spend unecessary money as the hotel provides free shuttle van to the airport as well which was great. The swimming pool was clean.

The room is very clean and big room .Hotel breakfast is o.k.. The lobby hotel is very large and luxuary. I can sleep well because of no sound around the hotel . I am happy very much. The price is resonable when compare with the quality of the hotel .It is a little far from the city center .

Beautiful luxury hotel lobby is very spacious, clean rooms smell musty. Marriott hotel will open many years but still everything is clean and well maintained. There are certainly more convenient Internet access in guest rooms and lobby, the breakfast room is very expensive compared to the quality. The area around the hotel has no shopping or restaurants to ride away. But not far away, but the car does not want the hotel offers a free to run around town roundabout fountains are very good too.

Nice 5star with the equivalent service”

I had chosen the hotel because of the location and I actually really enjoyed my stay. Nice staff with great smile and good service. The only small inconvenience is the distance from the airport (you'll pay 8 usd instead of 7 for downtown). Lovely pub inside the hotel with karaoke.

Impressive Hotel In Vientiane”

Spent 4 days 3 nights in don chan palace, very impressed with the service provide by don chan palace to me especially they guide me how to walk around in the town and exactly how much to pay for the tuk tuk so i wont overpaid it..The view from the pool are amazing...The room are large and they provide a special floor for non smokers..

A typical 4-5 star”

The location of the Don Chan Palace Hotel is central and the food is great and free transport is provided to the airport upon departure. The internet rates are too expensive and the prices for food and alcohol are very expensive compared to the prices found nearby. Getting taxis from this hotel can also be a problem, although Tuk-Tuks can be obtained farly easily by walking the main road. This hotel is OK for a short stay if the Green Park Boutique Hotel is full.

Was originally planning to stay near town center, but Don Chan had a great rate through Agoda. Although it is a large hotel, staff were all attentive and willing to assist on all levels. Pool was covered which was a good thing since it is very hot in Vientianne, and fitness center was replete with various exercise equipment. Also included sauna and steam room, though sauna was inop some days. Price included breakfast serving Asian and Western and other international dishes. Rooms were well appointed and comfortable, including a balcony on Mekong river side. Would stay here again.

Don Chan Palace”

The Don Chan Palace is overall a very nice hotel, the staff are extremely courteous and helpful. The nightclub in the hotel is about the only place to drink after 12.30am in Vientiane so you can always find something going on after hours. The internet charges ($16/day) seem a bit excessive in this day and age when most hotels include it for free.

Excellent river views”

Room condition was immaculate, this is a quality hotel. Breakfast rates with one of the best, and the food was amongst the best quality we could find in Vientianne. Not too impressed with the aircon temp being a little high, refrigerator not very efficient. Staff was great, i definitely recommend this hotel.

This is not a 5 star hotel”

Room 1108 was extremely disappointing, jacuzzi did not work, AC did not work. Maybe this hotel was a 5 star hotel at one time but it is in disrepair now. To keep the stars you need to keep the facility in running condition. Step on to the balcony and the outside wall is peeling away from the face. Staff was friendly and no beef with them. The entrance lobby does give the impression that all is well here. Perhaps rooms booked through Agoda site with good rates don’t get the rooms that people who pay more get? In any case this hotel doesn’t deserve 5 stars.

Worse experience ever”

It’s so far from the restaurants. The building is old. It claims to be 5 stars but it’s not. I’ve stayed in so many other 3-4 star hotels that’s better than here. Many of the staff cannot speak English. My friend stayed in Crown, which is nearby, and paid lesser! And that was really a 5 Star hotel. I chose this place thinking that since it costs more it should be better but no it’s the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed for the price I’m paying.

This is the most overpriced “5 Star” hotel. It’s not even worth 4 stars, at most 3 stars.”

For the amount charged u would expect a 5 stars experience but no, it’s such a let down. The building is not new, staff can’t speak English. Food is expensive but taste bad. There is a nearby 5 stars hotel(Crown) that cost less.

They can do better”

It’s a chinese built hotel for the chinese. Most of the guests are chinese. The breakfast food was chinese. The room I got was for one but it could easily fit two. There’s a tub. That’s good. It would’ve been better if they put me in a room facing the mekong river.
