Camere spaziose e molto luminose. Prenotarlo la deliux. Posizione centrale. Piscina spettacolare con vista pazzesca. Bel giardino. Il personale parla poco inglese però sono molto simpatici. Lenzuola pulite. Letto duro. Pulizia sommaria. Bisogna insistere per farsi rifare la stanza. Colazione scarsa.

abbiamo soggiornato nelle camere standard spaziose. un po' troppo luminose per me. arredate al minimo. il vero punto forte della struttura è la piscina. grande da cui si gode un tramonto pazzesco. la camera era abbastanza silenziosa per essere in Laos. Biancheria pulita.

The best swimming pool on Don Det”

This was my second stay at Golden Dondet Hotel. It has the best swimming pool on Don Det island, with clean water and jakuzzi. Unfortunately the sun beds are not confortable, made of wood and without pillows, and there are no umbrellas to protect from the sun. The bungalow on the river is the best option, big and clean. But the mattress is very hard! The breakfast is great, you can order what you wish at the restaurant, I took mixed fruit, eggs and noodle soup with ginger tea and fresh juice, everything was great and really fresh. The hotet has a boat and Mr. Mo can help organizing your tours to the beach or to the other islands and can bring you directly to Nagasak market from the hotel peer. Due to the Covid pamdemic there are just a few tourists and only 3 hotels and a few restaurants opened on Don Det island at the moment (near the peer). It is very sad to see all the other hotels and restaurant closed.

Nice hotel but poor service”

The Golden Dondet Hotel is a nice hotel situated directly on the river and with a great sunset view. The pool is nice and the water is clean. My bungalow was clean. Those are the positive sides. Now unfortunately I will have to be honest and list all the negative sides of the hotel, mainly the service. When I arrived after a long journey under the hot sun, nobody said even Hello and nobody offered to help me with the luggage. Nobody even cared about me, and of course nobody spoke English. After I managed to find my bungalow, I realized that nothing was working: the fridge, the TV, even the bathroom door could not be opened! After I insisted they changed the fridge and the remote control batteries. The people in this hotel will not be nice or smile at you, they are only busy with their mobile phones all the time. After writing a long message of complain to the owner of the hotel, he showed up and explained to me (in good English!), that since Covid started they are not having foreign tourists any more and they had to dismiss the English speaking staff. I am sorry for the Covid emergency situation, but if the hotel is on Agoda.com there should be some kind of service. Thank you anyway for taking care of me during the following days, since I really liked it there, I decided to stay two more nights

We had problem at the border crossing and could not proceed till the next day. Rang the Hotel early in the afternoon explaining the situation and asked if we could alter the booking for the next 2 days. I had paid for 2 days. Was told it could not be done even though the hotel was not booked out. I had to forfeit the first night

We had a huge room with balcony overlooking the river. Great view and beautiful sunset. The breakfast was a 5 out of 10. The coffee machine broke down and the coffee they made was not drinkable. There is a nice pool but no shade and it is very hot on the island. There are a few small umbrellas. They should have big umbrellas and a lot of them. Also, the pool chairs are wood and no cushions so not very comfortable. The room was cleaned every day.

This is probably the best hotel on Don Det . If not the second. Beautiful sunset views from the hotel, which is right on the river. The only thing that they need to improve is how they serve breakfast. Breakfast just ok for the price you pay for this hotel. But overall if you can afford it it is a good spot. About a 5 minute walk from the drop off pier.

Really nice hotel in walking distance to all restaurants and bars. Perfect sunset by the pool or bungalow we stayed in. You can only relax here and enjoy the pool on a hot day.

Pool and sunset were our highlights. We had a regular room and found the bathroom very dark. Breakfast didn't start till 7:30 so makes it a rush if you have the 8 am boat. It was still a great spot for us.

Located a few minutes walk from where the boats arrive, Golden Hotel was a good choice. There are 3 different blocks; the cheaper block has no river view, the more expensive rooms overlook the pool and the river behind and the bungalows are right on the river. We were upgraded to the bungalows and they were good. They are tastefully decorated and good size. There is storage space, good air con, ok Wifi, comfortable bed and decent bathroom that gets a bit wet. There is no safe. The deck has table and chairs to watch the river go by. The pool is a big bonus and was occasionally crowded. Breakfast was fine, the best thing was eating by the river. A recommended hotel.

Close to everything but far enough to be a little oasis. The pool & view of Mekong were an added bonus. The staff were helpful.

Breakfast inconsistant; one day there was a buffet and the other there was not. A lot of bugs and geckoes in the room aswel.

I believe the best accommodation ”

The golden hotel is located a short walk from the main pier, in the main town, the sunset side. We had a river front bungalow first, loved it so much stayed another 6 nights in a pool side villa, very big, hot shower big bed. Staff were friendly, breakfast very good each morning, if you dont see what you like ask for something different, and they will cook for you. The pool was a bonus at the end of a hot day. Walking distance to some great bars, nings on the corner and the reggae bar were favourites, we hired mortar bikes very cheap and got to see everything. Can't wait to go back, also a must is the jungle partys. See you again soon.

Found the hotel on Don-Det.com then booked online for best price. The hotel arranged my tour to see the dolphins and boat trip back to mainland.

We booked 2 rooms which turned out to be in what seemed to be an older, less cared-for building (near main entrance, opposite reception). They were very disappointing - poor flush on toilet, windows wouldn't properly close, huge numbers of ants, fridge didn't work. For the second night we paid for an upgrade to stay in the rooms which look out onto the pool area; this was an enormous improvement and well worth the money. On Agoda and other booking sites, the room classifications don't match those at the hotel, and it's unclear from the photos of each room what you're actually getting, but if you're interested in this place, the rooms which cost a few pounds more per night than the cheapest are the only ones worthy of consideration in my view (the bungalows on the river, which presumably are the most expensive, were not in use).Pool seemed a little dirty but we used it well (as did a fair number of non-guests, who presumably paid a fee?). Staff were quite indifferent, as was breakfast.

Everything was great. WiFi, air conditioning, mini fridge, cable tv but the only English channels were Al Jazeera and Russia Today. Great pool on the Mekong River and the free breakfast was delicious and cooked by an very nice girl named Douka. Highly recommended.
