E' un mega hotel, immerso nel verde con camere grandi e balcone. Il servizio navetta per aereoporto ( il bus fa fermata nell'hotel che ti prenota e ti addebita su camera il costo del biglietto) è una grande comodità, lo staff è preciso e la metro è a 5 minuti. Tutto ciò che non è compreso nel soggiorno si paga, quindi la piscina è a pagamento, la colazione molto cara, un espresso al bar 8 euro mi sembra troppo, i ristoranti all'interno sono fuori prezzo rispetto ai prezzi medi di Tokyo. Per avere il confort delle camere è il posto giusto, gli altri hotel che abbiamo soggiornato a Tokyo avevano camere piccolissime pur pagando la stessa cifra.
Una struttura di lusso con camere arredate con gusto. La navetta offerta gratuitamente ogni 30 ora collega tra la stazione di Shinagawa ed è comodissimo quando ha dei bagagli.
It was my first time staying in Shinagawa, and I’m so glad I chose this hotel! Although it’s about a 5–7 minute walk from the JR station with a slight uphill, it didn’t affect my wonderful stay at all. The lobby is spacious and often hosts events, so it can be lively at times, but most guests are polite and well-mannered since many are here for business. The room was very spacious — we had four large suitcases and could open them all comfortably. The bed was comfortable, though the pillows were a bit flat for my preference. Even though the hotel has been around for over 30 years and some facilities are slightly dated, everything was well-maintained and I felt very satisfied overall. There’s a 7-Eleven conveniently located in the basement, and the staff were all friendly and helpful. I’d definitely recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Shinagawa! 👍🏻
🌟 Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa: Corner Room and Garden Oasis We had an absolutely fantastic stay in a spacious Level 8 Corner Room at the Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa! The room was very large and extremely comfortable for three people, and the balcony was a wonderful bonus. We were thrilled with the beautiful, sprawling Japanese Garden right on the property—a true oasis in the city. The location is unbeatable: it's perfectly close to Shinagawa Station, offers the convenience of a 7-Eleven within the hotel, and is an easy walk to the Aqua Park. We were very happy with both the room and the excellent service. Highly recommend!
I was hesitant to book this hotel after reading some reviews, specifically about the aircon. But decided to book as it seemed close to the station and the grounds looked beautiful. This hotel is huge, there is a 7Eleven located downstairs. Upon entering the lobby you are greeted with a beautifully decorated modern looking lobby. Check in was self service so quick and easy. The hallways to the rooms are so long, if you are unfortunate like us to have booked a corner room you have a long walk ahead of you. Upon opening the room door we were hit with a very strong, stale cigarette smell. I shouldn't have been surprised as I could smell fresh cigarettes throughout the hallway. I bought odour spray, kept the sliding door open and the air purifier on and after a day it was not too bad but still there. The room is a vast contrast to the lobby and rest of hotel. The room was very old, dirty and unpleasant. The bed was surprisingly comfortable however there was no sheets on the bed so the mattress was exposed. They used flat sheets and did not cover the mattress. The room we booked, the corner one was very big and spacious. There are amenities supplied and topped up daily if needed. Sitting on the carpet when unpacking my suitcase I could see how old and dirty it was. There was mold surrounding the sliding door. I am not a fussy traveller, I don't mind some stains here and there. But this was the worst hotel of our stay. But surprisingly the aircon was nice and cold. I do see how it would be an issue in the summer time tho. We were never greeted by any of the reception staff, most times passing by when there were no other people and still no acknowledgement. The hotel is close to Shinagawa station however the hill that you see in the reviews is torture after a long day. The Japanese garden is wonderful especially at night. This was the most expensive hotel of our stay and being 5 stars you wpuld expect alot more. Unfortunately we will give this hotel a miss in the future.
The hotel is grand, and has a beautiful garden. The room was large by Japanese standards, and well kept/clean. Check in was efficient, but completely automated. I had arrived in the evening and asked the staff about train options in the early morning as I was getting contradictory advice online. They were quite unhelpful, and asked us to go check with the station. This was at about 11pm, and the station was at least a 10 minute walk away, and many of the station staff do not speak much english. Given how much we paid for the room, and the reputation of the hotel, we would have expected better service.
Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa is ideally located about a 10-minute upslope walk from JR Shinagawa station. This station is about a 20-minute ride from Haneda Airport and the Shinkansen stops here too. It also caters to a number of other lines. The hotel is clean and stately, however, the rooms are a bit dated albeit clean and relatively spacious as compared to other hotels in Tokyo. The hotel features a beautiful Japanese Garden shared with the other Prince hotels in the vicinity.
I love this hotel. There are so many luxurious hotels in Tokyo. While this hotel is not the Conrad or Peninsula, it's perfectly tucked in a spot, close to a train station that is so easy to navigate, near many bars and restaurants, and very comfortable sized rooms. For the money, this hotel is perfect. I recommend a club floor room with a Tokyo Tower view. Amazing!!
We stayed here around Feb 2026 and just in time to enjoy the snow covered garden, the garden is huge very beautifuly maintained, there's a 711 inside so you dont have to walk outside in the cold just to get to konbini, the room is big for Tokyo standard and very clean, the hotel also give us newspaper every morning, overall a very enjoyable stay, will comeback to stay here for sure! Negative: the hotel is located on a hill, so better do some workout if you plan to bring your luggage walking from the Shinagawa Station
Pros: Good location as proximity to Shinagawa station (JR & KK lines) Comfortable beds Daily free bottle waters There’s a 7/11 convenience store in the bldg Nice garden area Cons: room’s is bit tired for a described “Superior Modern twin room”. Sofas got black stains. Guests have no control over aircon in room in our March stay so we had to leave the balcony door open through the night for cooler night sleep (it was ok but not ideal as no mesh door so we got both mosquitoes and noise at night). This is a big inconvenience given it’s a 5 star hotel.

Nice clean hotel with superb choice of breakfast and with a nice garden to walk around. Close to the train station but a bit far away from the subway. We recommend the 72h subway ticket since there are many transfers to go anywhere in Tokyo. Rooms are oldie but clean and in good shape, and the balcony is a plus.
The hotel enjoys a top-notch location right in the heart of Shinagawa Station, though be prepared for a bit of an uphill walk to reach it. Service-wise, Japan’s trademark rigidity shows through. The staff member at check-in seemed less than enthusiastic about her role—her expression practically read “can’t be bothered.” Facilities are decent but modest. The gym, for instance, is equipped with just two treadmills, one stationary bike, and an elliptical. Unfortunately, the treadmills weren’t well-maintained or cleaned, so use them at your own discretion. All that said, I’m still satisfied overall. At the end of the day, it’s a holiday—and there’s no reason to let small inconveniences overshadow a long-awaited trip.

Easy to get to from Haneda airport. Just take the Keikyu line straight to Shinagawa station. 11 minutes. If you have a lot of luggage take a taxi to the hotel from the station. Just make sure he knows it’s grand prince shin Takanawa because there’s also a grand prince takanawa and it could be confusing. There is a collection of 4 hotels in the area that are connected by a free shuttle that runs 3x per hour. Very convenient for getting to and from the station if you time it right. The hotel is older but maintained well. Rooms are clean and spacious with an excellent view. Staff is courteous and helpful. Just what you’d expect from a chain like Prince. A+++
I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The rooms are very spacious and come with plenty of facilities, even though I didn’t use them much. It’s a comfortable and well-equipped place to stay. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. The hotel also has a nice restaurant inside, which is convenient for dining without having to go out. One of the best features is the limousine bus service to Narita Airport, making transportation easy and hassle-free. Overall, it’s a great hotel for a comfortable and convenient stay.
Part of the Prince Hotel Chain -there are 3 hotels on the beautifully created Japanese Garden grounds. Rooms are first rate - big, comfortable with a room safe. Bar is not always open which was inconvenient. High end Teppaniki restaurant was good but a little pricy. Ambiance of the Prince properties are hard to beat.
We had a really good price with Agoda, so the feelings are mixed. The lobby and restaurant are nice, but the rooms are old and the carpet is stained, the wall paper is thorn, the bathroom is like 30yo. It was clean though. We took the breakfast first day, 4500Y/pers, too expensive for what it is. Take a coffee from Tullys and some products from 7/11 and your breakfast is way better ! And last, far from the train station Shinagawa, 10min from the entrance of the hotel to the entrance of the train station, but hey, the room are far away so make it 5/10min to the entrance and 5 more minutes to get to the platform... And from the train station to the hotel count 5 more minutes because it'a huge hill. I recommend taxi if you have heavy luggage.
We were in Japan on a holiday and for a part of it stayed at Grand Prince Shin Takanawa. The hotel was super, absolutely clean, extremely user friendly and the 7/11 was a treat Overall an excellent stay. Would live to visit again
Loved my stay at GPHST! A friend and I shared a room with twin beds, and we still had space to lay out suitcases, purchases etc. Shinagawa station 5 minutes away made every line easy and getting back at night simple. We went to Kamakura one day and it was a breeze from Shinagawa. There is a 7-11 on the bottom floor which is a lifesaver, and the garden at night is magical. There’s also a Tully’s coffee in the lobby. The only downside was no onsen at the hotel- it’s across the garden at another hotel so I never used it due to time. Would 100% stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking to explore large parts of Tokyo on the same trip.
I've seen a lot of reviews about the outdated rooms and space of the hotel, which after experienced it myself was nothing reflecting those. The room size was really good compared to other Tokyo hotels which are mostly more expensive. It is also not outdated. It's not state-of-the-art but it's not outdated. Staff was nothing less than what you would expect from the Japanese hospitality. They were helpful. I only wish they smiled more. Easy to get around as the Shinagawa Station, which is a big station with a direct express trains to both Narita and Haneda airports, is also on the Yamanote Line with multiple attraction stops (Ueno, Shibuya, etc), I will probably stay here again next time I'm in Tokyo.
Had a pleasant stay at Grand Prince Hotel Shin Takanawa. It's near Shinagawa station and you can easily go anywhere from that station. Mind you that the hotel is located uphill and it's a bit tiresome to walk from station to hotel. Fortunately, there is a shuttle service from and to station, you just need to check the schedule. For the room, it's bigger than any other hotel. I can easily open up 3 big luggage. It's clean and tidy, the staff was very helpful. The lobby looks really nice and big. There's a konbini on B1F for a late night snack.
I choose this hotel to be near friends staying in the area. Although the hotel is on top of a slope, there’s a bus shuttle if you like. The staff are friendly and professional. Love the gardens in the hotel grounds. The room is spacious, clean and has a balcony with a view of the garden and city-line. Lovely stay.
This hotel isn't so new, but it has been well-cared-for over the years. My wife attends events in the area often and it helps her to stay nearby, rather than face long commutes, especially at the end of the day. Our room this stay was was on the Club Floor, large and attractive, with a nice view of the skyline and Tokyo Tower. We usually have the buffet breakfast and this time it was especially nice. I'm especially fond of the lobby, and often will stop here for a cup of coffee and a chance to people-watch.
Wonderful location being next to Shinagawa train station with lots of food nearby. We had 3 beds in the room which was wonderful for a young family and the price offered was nothing short of amazing given the prices of Tokyo properties. Small gym and no onsen in hotel but this was available next door at the Prince Hotel with payment of ¥2,100 per person. Many amazing restaurants on the property (beef teppanyaki, sushi, tempura) but be prepared for slightly higher prices. Pay for the quality.
The hotel impressed us with its exceptional cleanliness, spacious rooms, and efficient transport options. Housekeeping was superb, providing a spotless environment. The room size was ample, offering a comfortable stay. Additionally, the hot water supply was reliable. While the location and staff were good, there is room for improvement in these areas to match the high standard set by the other aspects of the property.
Very nice lobby, clean, great breakfast, and nice staff. Everything is great. But only one thing is they didn’t ready for heater yet for first cold day.
This hotel is VERY old. Everything looks worn out, and even the temperature control is manually operated using a dated mechanism. The lights in the room are way too dim. If you’re thinking of getting the room purely just for the big 30 square metre room, think again. There is an uphill walk from Shinagawa station, mostly connected to Tokyo, Shibuya, Shinjuku station, except for Asakusa, where the nearby metro is more convenient. After a long day of shopping, you WOULD NOT want to be carrying heavy bags of goods uphill to your hotel. But there are some positives about this hotel: room cleaning everyday, sometimes they even fold your clothes if you leave it everywhere. Delivery service of amenities to your room through a website. And also a beautiful garden they have on the first floor. The lobby is stunning as well but my god the walk from the main entrance to the room wing lobby is longer than my legs. Just get a more convenient hotel. And a more modern one too. This hotel is in desperate need of renovations.
The hotel was nice and clean. The staff were good, not much contact with them though. The Shinagawa Train station was only less than 10 minutes walk away, and it it one of the major stations so there are many lines running through the station. There is also a direct train to both Narita and Haneda Airport. The only downside of the hotel is that, the airport shuttle to Haneda has been cancelled. There is only the shuttle to Narita Airport available. The area of the hotel is very quiet at night too. The gym did not have many items - only a spin bike and treadmill. Not sure if there is another separate gym for weights, but we only saw that.
We spent a couple of days in this hotel and our experience was wonderful. Great location, excellent service, very clean and comfortable room. We enjoyed a walk around the garden at night and it was beautiful, all the lights, the details… we loved it! Also tried the massage service, the ladies came to our room right on time, were very professionals and we think it was good value for money. Also some of the staff speaks Spanish so that was great after 2 weeks traveling around Japan without speaking Japanese at all.
All our encounter with the concierge staff and the different drivers of the shuttle service were excellent as you would expect of the Japanese standard of service. Even my communication with the hotel reservation staff were pleasant. However, all my encounters with each of the Reception staff lack the standard of warmth as were demonstrated by concierge and the drivers. I would say that the staff at reception were proficient but not particularly welcoming. I have stayed in GPHST twice last year and in April this year. I would recommend the hotel for its excellent service standard you get from the other services. In particular, the "Prince One" over the phone, were always quick and positive with their responses. The room sizes were very comfortable. However, there was one room we stayed in last year, the furnishings were not as bright as the room we were given this April. Excellent WiFi as well. Except for one day day during our recent stay, the room was not properly cleaned when we got back at about 4pm. We had to called on the "chamberman" in the hallway to clean the room. There is also a 7-eleven that is quite convenient from 7am to 11pm. I would recommend the hotel for all the pluses I have mentioned.
Nice & clean, hotel front desk staff polite but cold, not exactly going out of way to address your needs. For example, when enquiring about AirPort Express bus (this is after noting several guests’ comments about this hotel being a drop off point), I was referred to someone looking like a concierge manager but all he said was there is no such service here, and he insisted on it even after I showed him those comments, and did not offer me any suggestions on alternatives… upon checkout, not a single hotel staff enquired if we needed any assistance with our luggage… certainly no warm fuzzy feeling. Otherwise hotel is fairly roomy and clean, but note that it’s a ten-min uphill walk from Shinagawa train station, which can be challenging if you have heavy luggage…
It a 4 star hotel on a cliff ! You have to be hike ready just to get to the station , if you use trains all the time you wont need to go to the gym the route from and to the train station will build your musle , if you use taxi and enjoy quiet , clean and sapcuis rooms you will enjoy the stay , 30 mins to all the tourist area btw .
I stayed at this hotel with the family for only one night. Purposely picked this hotel as it's closer to Haneda Airport (25 min taxi ride) and we had an early flight to catch the next day. Hotel is about 10 min walk to Shingawa Station. Hotel lobby is grand, and reminds me of older hotel style. Room is clean and bathroom is fairly big. Might stay here again but it is slightly far (30mins) to Shinjuku/Shibuya area.
Generally speaking a nice place. Great location (near major train station), staff is very friendly and helpful, and I enjoyed the balcony. Only downsides are that the restaurants in the building are ridiculously expensive (but there are nearby places to eat), I could not find the free shuttle bus at the train station (no signage for it) so I had to walk, and the staff cleaning the rooms tend to miss minor things but otherwise keep the rooms tidy. I recommend it if you can reserve it at a decent rate.
We were very lucky to have booked the hotel for 2 families. The room was very spacious, and the hotel's location worked really well for us. It's very close to the JR Station by just a few minutes walk. Our families enjoyed our stay with superb comfort and feeling of safety & security. The staff at the lobby were also very helpful during our stay.

Pros - walking distance to Shinagawa station so it's ideal for those taking Shinkasen to Osaka. Room is spacious for Japan standard. Clean. Staff service ok too. Cons - 10min walk to Shinagawa station. No coin laundry in hotel and nearest laundry is 7 min walk away. We came during winter so heater in room only. So it was a little stuffy in the room but luckily we were able to open balcony window to let in cold air for circulation. The 3rd bed for the 3 roomer was a sofa bed but the sofa spring was hard and my child said he can feel the springs so he did not enjoy his sleep on the sofa bed
We were very satisfied to have booked at Grand Prince. Location is very central with access to subway or Metro at short distance. An area where they can improve, in fact that's the issue with most of the Hotdls in Japan is very limited options in breakfast for vegetarians. My belief is tourists from India can increase if the food issues are sorted.
Stay in hotel is awesome. Check-in and check-out process is smoother. It is 5 min walk from Shinagawa station. Location and balcony view is awesome. convenience store and restaurants are inside the hotel. Vending machine for currency exchange is available which is very convenient. Overall my family enjoyed the stay
It's a comfortable hotel, conveniently located, close to statuon well connected by most train lines. It has a 7-11 in the basement, well stocked, easy to access. Many eateries around Anda good coffee shop in the hotel.
The quality of the room is very good and I would give is a 5 stars. Only bad experiences I encountered is the reception staff opposite the Coffee House is a bit blunt in replying my questions on the complementary bus of the hotel on the day of the arrival. She does not smile or even speak politely like most Japanese people , and her understanding of my spoken English is not clear to her, which I found a surprised as Grand Prince Takanawa Shin is a 4-5 stars hotel. I believe the training of the Reception Staff is very important as it’s the first contact with guests who may have travelled far to checkin.

I had a very disappointing experience during my stay. The heating system in the room was not working at all throughout the entire night, leaving the room extremely cold. Despite informing the hotel staff, no proper solution was provided, and I was told that there were no heaters available. This made the night very uncomfortable and honestly unbearable. For a hotel of this level, this is completely unacceptable. Basic comfort such as proper heating should never be an issue. I am currently in contact with Agoda regarding this matter and expect a fair resolution. Until then, I cannot recommend this property.

Been staying here since about 15 years or more ago. Always nice but this time around there are too much construction further away and near the station. That’s proved to be not ideal for this trip. No shuttle service and walking there was too hot and very inconvenient for pedestrians. Hotel wise.. excellent!
