I stayed at Ibis Budget Luzern City for two nights at the end of May 2025, marking our first stop upon arriving from Milan, Italy. From the moment we checked in, we were welcomed by Mr. Alexander, an incredibly kind and cheerful person. He always greeted guests with a smile, spoke excellent English, and maintained a professional yet friendly demeanor. Observing how he interacted with other guests, I could tell that many felt comfortable and happy during their stay. He is truly an asset to this hotel. As this was our first experience with an Ibis-style hotel, we embraced the simplicity of the setup. While rooms do not have kettles or a pantry, the shared pantry area is well-equipped with essentials like a microwave and hot water, making it convenient for guests. The hotel also offers food options for late-night cravings. Even in a shared space, my wife and son felt at ease. A particularly heartwarming moment was when Mr. Alexander noticed my son looking quite tired one evening after a long day of activities. He kindly offered him a small Ovomaltine chocolate, which was a thoughtful gesture that left a lasting impression. During check-in, Mr. Alexander also took the time to explain the public transport system in Luzern. While the hotel appears somewhat distant from Luzern Train Station on Google Maps, Switzerland's efficient transport system makes traveling around incredibly easy. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to budget-conscious travelers. With its great value, warm hospitality, and convenient transport access, you won’t regret staying here.

We had a great time in Ibiz Budget Hotel Luzerne. Will recommend to others. Location: near Lucerne station. It's walkable for 750m but if you have heavy luggage, You just take the bus #4 infront of the station going to Hubelmatt. It will take you to the hotel in 8 mins. Food: Unlimited pastries, cold cuts, cerrals, fruits, coffee, cheese, milk etc. Not a wide variety, but enough for a breakfast meal. I have no problem with that. Room: We got the triple room. A double sized bed and a bunk bed. It was clean and comfy. Smaller than Ibiz hotel in Leiden Netherlands. My only prob is the door of the shower are which is a glass with stripe frosted sticker. You are still visible to the person outside while taking a shower. This can be improved if they install frosted sticker in the entire door and put a handle. Also the toilet has no lock and there's a gap between the door and wall. You can see the person inside while they pee. This can be improved if they put a lock on the door to close the gap. Staff: They are friendly. They are accommodating to our needs. They can communicate well with different nationalities of guests. Overall we have a good stay on this hotel. We'll recommend it to others.
This hotel shares the Ibis name but focus is on the word "Budget". Location requires a bus from Luzern station. Our initial check-in took 20 mins as staff was too pre-occupied with the 2 groups of people in front. We knew that there was a surcharge on early-check ins but we certainly weren't told about having to pay 6 Francs for leaving the luggages with them. Would be nice if they mentioned this earlier. Toilets were small as were the room. We asked for combined beds but were given 2 single beds adjoined to a third bed on top. There were also only power points on 1 side of the 2 beds. Table that was attached to the wall was also slanted. They have a shared microwave at the lobby but other incosiderate guests ruined that experience by leaving curry stains and smell all over the interior. Breakfast choices were expectedly limited. Staff, at counter and cleaning services were at the very least, friendly. This hotel was indeed friendly to our wallets was well but definitely left us wanting for more... elswhere.

We stayed for 4 nights, the room was pretty small with a bunk bed on top of our double bed. What I didn’t like about the room was that there was no traditional bathroom. The shower and the sink are in the room while the toilet has its own room but the door doesn’t close properly, I’m comfortable with my partner but I still value my privacy. The breakfast is ok, simple bread, ham, cheese and some pastries. However, they do take a long time to replenish them so you might have to wait 20 minutes for a boiled egg. What I didn’t like is the locations which is pretty close to the bus stop straight to the Centre of Lucerne. They also give you a bus pass for zone 10 which is useful. The staff were all lovely and very helpful with any queries that we had. Overall, I would recommend this hotel if you’re looking for a simply budget hotel and aren’t fussed.

The rooms were moden though small. It had 2 single beds and another single of top. It can fit 3 people. Location is pretty near a bus stop. Always look for bus #4 as it will take you the central station and back. We booked breakfast. I5 was good enough to fill you up but the choices are few. She was rude and kept on banging used utensils as if she woke up at the wrong side of the bed. Customer service was good. They printed our bus ticket. The front desk also have us tips to travel fast and safe using Uber. Highly recommend place to stay while in Luzern.
We had a wonderful time staying here! The hotel is in a good location—it’s a bit away from the city center, but that actually made it more relaxing and quiet, which we really appreciated. The place was clean, calm, and perfect for a restful stay. One of the highlights was the warm and friendly service. We were able to chat with the owner, who was very accommodating, and the staff made us feel genuinely welcome throughout our visit. I appreciate the staffs behaviour and budget friendly rates. The location is at a walking distance about 600m from Lucern railway station and they serves lovely breakfast. The rooms are clean and tidy, a bit small but that’s alright at this price point. You ll find an Indian restaurant - “GourmIndia Luzern” as well about 300m from the hotel and stays open till 11. The food is great there.

The rooms were good enough to adjust three kids in a room with a bunk bed while we as a couple stayed in another room. We additionally appreciate the early check-in allowed to us however with a minimal Swiss Franc payment. It was clean, cozy and all important amenities were at the door.

We really enjoyed our stay at Ibis Budget Luzern City! The location is convenient, only about a 10–11 minute walk from Luzern Station, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The rooms were clean and comfortable, perfect for a short city stay. Very convenient right next to supermarket and close to bus stop. Very good breakfast. A friendly warm greeting from an asian staff during my last day of stay. Very friendly and my kids love the breakfast. Glass bathroom door made a little inconvenient for my teenager.All others, this hotel is great. Would definitely come back.

The hotel is close to Luzern Bahnhof...bus ticket cost to station is around 3 CHF only. we stayed in the triple room although the third bed was not used...the room is very clean with all amenities except electric kettle...the third bed is a bunker over the main bed...the downside is that the room is quite small...breakfast is not as elaborate as in other hotels

Overall reasonable, though the room is extremely small with barely enough space for two open luggages and limited movement. The room is clean. Breakfast is fair, with a generous fruit selection. The shared microwave was helpful, and the communal dining tables made meals convenient.

For 1 night accommodation, this suits the bill. Accessible with tram from the main station and they provide day passes to guest for unlimited transportation rides. Was able to us it to tour Lucerne for 1 day. The units are clean and we'll maintained. We did not avail of the paid breakfast. For 15, it's better deal to go somewhere since we are not big breakfast people.

The location is just a few stops (about 3) from Luzern Station. Visitor pass given by the hotel entitles tourists free bus, train transpo within luzern (truly convenient!!!) on the whole duration of stay at their hotel. the Staff Jonathan was exeptional, He made our stay really worthwhile. The bed was comfy, room is really clean except for the towels are not replaced during our 5 days stay. They have a microwave which you can use to heat your food(take away) & can even let you keep your food in their fridge (no fridge in the room). There is free hot water in the common area. But all in all, our stay was memorable in Luzern due to convenience of location, so i am giving their hotel a 7 out pf 10.

I chose this one based on good experiences with ibis hotels in other European cities. The room and breakfast were good. I was also warmly welcomed by a friendly male staff, very kind, and genuinely welcoming. However, an unfortunate incident happened during checkout. My personal plug converter got stuck in socket. It was a grounded plug converter compatible with European round sockets, which I have used without any problem in France and 9 other European countries. I immediately contacted the front desk and waited in my room as instructed. After more than 30 minutes with no one coming, I went down to the reception to ask again. The two staff members there seemed not very proactive, but eventually contacted the technician once more. I was then told that the technician had already been to my room. Later, I was informed that my plug converter had been removed but was broken. I went back to the room to collect my luggage for checkout and realized that my plug converter was not there. I returned to the reception and asked if it could be given back to me. They had to call the technician again. About 10 minutes later, the technician finally came to the lobby and handed me my plug converter, completely destroyed. At that moment, I was shocked and very disappointed. I had waited almost 60 minutes in total, hoping to get my plug converter back so I could continue my trip. Instead, I received a completely unusable item. This affected my mood and disrupted the rest of my journey. Then hotel staff simply said “sorry,” without showing real understanding or any practical help. Even now after a week, I still haven’t been able to find a suitable replacement plug converter, which continues to affect my travels. I later contacted the hotel by email, hoping for some support or compensation for the inconvenience. However, the hotel declined, citing technical and safety reasons related to incompatible adapters, which indirectly placed the responsibility on the guest, and without any reasonable solution. If you plan to stay here, please make sure your plug converter fits perfectly with the hotel’s sockets, and be aware of what may happen if you need assistance.

Ibis Budget Luzern City is located near to the Luzern station. It takes only 15min walk from the station or you can take bus number 4 from the station and get off on the third bus stop, then you will reach the hotel by foot in 1min. The room is a bit small, but it is clean and neat. We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights. Staff at the reception are very friendly and helpful. If you fancy any Chinese food, there is a Chinese restaurant just opposite to the hotel. There is also a supermarket just round the corner where you can buy drinks and food at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend staying in Ibis Budget when you visit the Luzern City!
