Great stay in the Ancient City”

The location is perfect, short walk from anywhere but not noisy. I loved the room and the bath, skylight and balcony. The family that run the place were so lovely and helpful too. Bed was very comfortable.

Economic hotel in the heart of the old town of Dali.”

Very friendly and helpful management. We wanted to check out early and the manager was ok with it. There is a washing machine you can use and a place for drying. You also can put some stuff in the refrigerator in the kitchen so that you can enjoy a cold beer when you come back to the hotel sitting in the small common patio. The atmosphere of the place is quite relaxed. The price was also good. The location is in the middle of the old town with hundreds of restaurants or food stalls around.
There is no breakfast available, even though the description said that it would be. It is not a problem, because there are more than enough restaurants around, but an inconsitency in the description. Parking is a very limited - if you are lucky you can park in front of the house in a narrow alley. You might need to leave your car key at the reception so that the other car (two spaces) can get out. As the kitchen is for common use, it is not the cleanest place you can imagine.

I booked a room in another hotel, with the same owner. I got a comparable room but in a different style. In fact, the images on booking.com were a combination of both hotels.

Location fantastic, room is cozy, great value for your money and nice and quiet location. Also had on demand movies chinese and tons of foreign movies and a big screen tv ... you had to pay , but it was nice to have when coming back from a long day out.

Best Stay Ever”

The room was designed and decorated in a minimalistic kind of style, very much to my taste. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and one can easily be friends with them. There was also this big poodle around which was a bonus. I enjoyed my stay there very much and only wish that I could stay longer.
As there was this glass ceiling for observing stars at night, the room was understandably hot during the day. But one can turn on the air conditioning so all is good. There was no soap but it was't a big deal as I just used the shower gel provided. The location can be a bit confusing at the start as there are multiple properties there.

The location is great...next to the old town but tucked away on a quiet street (though this did make it a little hard to find as an expat who doesn't speak a lot of Chinese). The owner was so friendly and guided us there, despite not speaking that much English. They upgraded our room for free as the one we booked had some issues with flooding due to the heavy rain recently. The room was beautiful and looked exactly like the pictures (the one with the skylight). And it was extremely clean. The hotel is walking distance to everything, including the lake (well, we walked but it did take a good 45 minutes or so. I would definitely stay here again.
