Magnificent hotel, HUGE rooms, impeccable fittings”
I've always wanted to stay at the Summit Wing of the China World, and when I found a particularly good rate here on Agoda it was a clear signal. Hotel was wonderful, gym, pool and fitness centre were amazing. However, given that the hotel starts on the 64th floor (although there is a check in desk on the 1st) there isn't the usual easy to access hotel coffee shop / other restaurants on a single lobby level - although the hotel does have restaurants they're a little harder to access and it seemed easier to find a restaurant in the attached mall or cross over to the Trader's Hotel or Kerry Centre. Only complaint was that the check in staff wanted a deposit of 4,000 RMB on my credit card for a 4 night stay (remember my room was already paid for) which was more than the cost of my room and WAY more than I'd ever spend on F&B in the hotel - the reason I have a problem with this is that I travel a lot and these security deposits usually take a fortnight to be credited back, so over a month I end up with several thousand RMB stuck in this phase. One of the BEST things about the hotel was the in-room Nespresso machine - really nice touch for me since I'm an espresso lover and always end up having to take the elevator down 65 floors to go find a coffee shop...

Hotel is located in CBD of Beijing. Definitely a 5 stars or even should i say 6 stars for Shangri- La China World Summit wing. Room are huge, comfortable and clean. Staffs are friendly and willing to assist.

Heaven in the Clouds”
The staff and facilities at the Summit are so “ high up” you feel you are floating on the clouds you see out your window. There is no small or large task that the Concierge or Manager or Food Service staff would not provide or problem they wouldnt be able to resolve!! They are truly a family away from home !

Fantastic view, great service”
I would definitely recommend this hotel. Great position in the heart of Beijing, just a few minutes away from Tien'Anmen square (by taxi). Our room was located at 74th floor and the view was breathtaking. Staff was friendly and very helpful, a true 5 stars stay.

1 Awesome scenery from 70th floor (highest in Beijing) 2 Smiley staff with enough hospitality and ability to speak English 3 Fantastic amenity such as Loccitane 4 No noise heard from outside or other rooms Really really comfortable! High class, rather expensive place”
Really everything was fine except the complimentary continental breakfast, which is a joke. The price is very high - next time I'll save on accommodation and spend the savings in the Atmosphere bar on 80th floor instead ;-). Friends have stayed in much cheaper places around the corner, which included a stunning breakfast selection in the room price, and a 25m pool. Sounds like the much better deal to me.

over priced ”
The Hotel is overrated and represents poor value for money with everything set at unrealistic prices for extras please don't think I'm mean but there is a point at where you question the high cost and think your getting overcharged. The breakfast cost is very expensive at 278 in Chinese currency and the bacon is as tough as leather and usual coffee is cold so don't recommend it . Lifts are also annoying as you have to change lifts to go to most floors which is not ideal. wifi is poor so if working on line is you're thing avoid this it has a 80Th floor lounge with a again crazy prices for drinks and snacks. good points shopping mall is conected but lacks places to dine and the location is good due to being in CBD i will not be returning to this hotel in future

the hotel is beautiful. new and design is very pleasing. located in the top floors, therefore breathtaking view of the city. However, i like to be casually dressed and was questioned quite a number of times by the staff and been mistaken for being trespasser. the staff seriously need to be more educated that not all guests will be dressed to the nine all the time.

Great location, highly priced though”
very nice and comfortable hotel. rooms not as large as i thought they would be, i think the layout maybe inefficient. i chose it because of its location as i had a meeting in the same building, otherwise i felt it was overpriced compared to its competitors in the area who were offering much better pricing than their rack rate through discount sites like agoda.

loved the room, great views through full length windows, great attention to detail and the tv in the bathroom mirror! plenty of staff to help no matter where you were (eg gym, the grill, pool, executive lounge). superb quality meal & service had in grill79 - although a little pricey. buffet breakfast - plenty of variety, good quality - go for the pancakes! :-)

Overall, a reasonably pleasant stay over CNY. However I was disappointed by the executive lounge- not a very wide selection of beverages and wine only available quite late in the evening. Noisy environment at times with children running around so not relaxing. Also, asked for ice to be delivered to the room but it never arrived. The highlight was staff performing in a fantastic dragon and lion dance for the new year celebrations A good hotel, but overrated for the price.

Great location - shame about the view”
All too brief and unfortunately due to serious smog on the day we stayed the view from our 70th floor room was like being in the clouds. Apart from this the staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful and when we turned up late and dishevelled from a full day tour of the Great Wall cold drinks were proffered before they even knew who we were.

Very good”
This is my second time staying at Shangri-La WSW, my first being many years back and I remembered the amazing service alongside the very comfortable bed. I have to say, service quality has dropped since then. The managerial level staff are still very good, namely Ms Dong who was at breakfast service when I was there, she ensured my elderly father and toddler was well taken care of by herself, remembering our previous day orders, etc. There was also a gentleman at concierge who went above and beyond to help us get transport to and fro the hotel to my dinner location. The junior staff however, were a let down. Breakfast service junior staff looked like they were out of their depths, serving wrong drinks/ food or generally not being very helpful. Table setting was inconsistent during busy turnover periods. Junior staff definitely need more training so that their manager isn't the only one who can deliver good service.
