Just enough for a stay”
Rooms are not fancy, no air cond, but clean. All ceiling, wall, bed, bathroom seem to be old but usable and clean. If you want to stay for your evening, this is good for its affordable price, the lake is just behind the hotel. The rooms are under ground, much lower than the front main road, same high as the lake.

Lovely Location, but scalding shower”
Its a lovely lakeside spot, with only a short walk to get to most of the rest of Tuk Tuk, however my shower only put out scalding hot water while I was there which was a bit of a problem for me.

Samosir is a very chill island, and Sibayak is the perfect reflection of this atmosphere. The staff is very friendly, helpful and easy to speak with them. The rooms are simple and Clean. The view is perfect!!!

Nice Guest House with nice lake view. We checked out 1 day early because we wanted to go to Parapat and Explore their all day. We had a nice stay at this Guesthouse. The Guy at the reception is very welcoming and helpful. He provided us with extra blanket when I asked. If I go back Lake Toba I will definitely stay here again.

Cleanliness was bearable but there was a pile of hair and some trash in the drawer when I opened it up. Overall, it was okay for me because the view outside my room was amazing and that was sufficient to compensate for the flaws. Hot shower is available at all times which was really great! I went there in November and was told that it is the low season. If it is low season, you can get really cheap stay in other guesthouses as well especially if you book a day or two before the trip. The room and bathroom is very very basic, but for the price it is okay. The roof terrace is a cool place to hang out and meet other travellers, the food is delicious and reasonable priced.

had a really good time here. thank you so much again to the lovely staff for always having a smile, good food and advice for me! the lake is just infront of the door to have a swim or enjoy the nice view. motorbike/bicycle rental avaiable and also good location to explore the beautiful surroundings by walk. will definitely be back!

Potentially the worst place I've stayed in Asia ”
This is the first time I have ever written a bad review but I feel it is necessary. The place is dark and run down, with dead bugs on the walls, stained sheets and absolutely no facilities. The 'pool' at front is not nice. There is no flush on toilet or hand soap or toilet paper and no fan and no wifi that we could find. All of these things would have been totally acceptable to us if the service wasn't so bad. It was almost funny. I was unable to buy water as the staff didn't know the price, then had to call someone for the price then would not sell to me as I did not have correct change and he had no money. On arrival the man was silent - no greeting, just took the key and walked past us to our room as we struggled with our bags, then left without a word. I asked for help to order a moto or becak or taxi or anything at all to help take our bags and he just shrugged and said no. I spoke in English and Bahasa with no response. We asked to store our bags so we could go find something and he pointed to the corner. When we came back on a becak 30 minutes later our bags were in the reception room and no one was there so we just took them. I'm glad it was us. 😅😅 Throughout all of these interactions he was sitting on a chair talking to someone on the phone. We stayed here as many reviews said they staff were friendly and helpful so I just wanted to share our experience in the hopes it helps others. We moved to another guesthouse at the same price rate and are much more happy and impressed with service. Hope this helps someone!

Great value for money”
The guesthouse is very well-located, in walking distance from the port. I booked the room with a lake of the view, which I recommend. The room was basic but clean, with warm water (although I think not all rooms have warm water) and an amazing view. Take into account that there is no fan/AC nor mosquito net but when I went they were not needed (mid-may). However during my stay there wasn't anyone speaking English at the reception (apart from the very beginning and end of the stay) and often noone at the reception at all, which meant that I had to exchange via WA. Also, no breakfast was there while I was there (and that was not clear), I suspect because the person in charge was absent. In short, I would have expected better communication on behalf of the staff.

Staff is smiley and friendly. The place is basic but i was super Happy with my room and the view to the lake . I would have loved to have more food options but you have other places nearby. Also some light in the stairs area would be nice (only saw it with light one of my 6 nights). I would come black difinitely!

Chambre spacieuse. Très belle vue depuis terrasse. Emplacement proche de tout. Personnel très sympa et qui parle anglais ! Bravo Attention , demander au personnel de mettre le cumulus en route. Sinon pas d eau chaude.

저렴한 가격으로 이용하는 숙소이기에 크게 바라는건 없었음”
방은 넓고 바로앞에 호수가 보여 좋았다. 가격이 굉장히 저렴하였으며 바로앞의 호수에서 낚시와 수영등을 즐기기에는 최적이었다. 조금 더럽다던가 위치가 조금 외진곳에 있다던가 하는 문제가 조금 있지만 저렴한 가격과 친절한 호텔주인덕분에 편하게 잘 쉬다가 갈 수 있었다.
