I recently had the pleasure of staying at Meander 1948 Hostel in Taipei, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The hostel stands out for its cleanliness and comfortable accommodations and for its thoughtful amenities, including vouchers for breakfast. These vouchers are a wonderful touch, allowing guests to start their day with a delicious meal nearby, which adds to the overall value of the stay. Sharing a room initially seemed daunting, but the hostel’s friendly atmosphere quickly put my concerns to rest. It’s a fantastic place to meet fellow travelers. Their common area makes it easy to forge new friendships with fellow travelers. Location-wise, Meander 1948 is perfectly positioned near the train station, offering effortless access to Taipei’s extensive public transit system and making city exploration a breeze. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the facilities are top-notch, and the added perks like breakfast vouchers make it an outstanding choice for any traveler looking for a convenient, comfortable, and sociable stay. Highly recommended!

Great price, great setup, very functional design”
I wanted to try this hostel cause it has its own sink in the room which is a crazy good idea. The bathroom was shared and each one is private so it was nice and it was never busy but I was there on a weekday so it mightve been better. The shower is shared but each shower is private and large enough to be very comfortable and 100% private. Plenty of high pressure water with all the hot and cold water you wanted. The elevator was never busy for too long. What I really liked was the entrance to the rooms is located to the side of the reception. Even though reception is around the corner, they dont see you come in or out really. At least not in person. I liked this because if you needed help, they were just in the next room, but when going home or leaving at any hour, you felt a lot of privacy in and out both ways. I really liked this cause I always feel a little self conscious what people think if I come home too late or leave late or bring home a friend! Everyone was extremely nice and entire process was easy. Location is epic, downstairs insane delicious food everywhere. Can walk to world gym and all the best parts of Taipei area or take a easy 5 min taxi ride anywhere for very cheap!! I really loved my stay and have already booked another for next week but will be in a full room with my own everything. I look forward to trying that out at the same hotel and location! There is so much to do in Taipei and this hotel makes it affordable and comfortable to visit as often as I like!

Only one night but was good”
I stayed just for one night but it was an overall good experience. The rooms are quiet and spacious. The lockers are large. Showers are very clean, and toilets had heated seats! (Also they had bidets and bum guns). I checked in after closing and they made the process really easy for me. Also I liked having multiple breakfast options. Not super social, but that's ok overall. I wish I had another night as I would have loved to sleep in on the comfy bed just a little longer.

Modern hostel revitalised from historical building ”
I booked an the 1948 double ensuite for me & my friend there. It's was heavily raining on our day of arrival, staff warmly reminded us to bring along their umbrella provides in the lobby if we didn't have one. Check in was smooth, staff introduced all the facilities in the hostel, even walked us to our room. The room is very spacious, meticulously designed with simplicity to fit the need of travellers. There's lots of sockets in the room. The bed is unexpectedly comfortable. One thing that need to be aware is that the noise from the street may be a concern to light sleepers. Although there's already a mirror in front of the sink, if they can add one small mirror on the desk for makeup, then it would be perfect! There's a common area and kitchen on the 4/F with a balcony which u can enjoy your drink during good weather, books that u can read, clean water to fill your water bottles, payable washing machine for your clothes...etc. The hostel even partnered with restaurants nearby and provides meal voucher for us to enjoy. This is incredible!! There are interesting bars nearby which u can enjoy nice cocktails and snacks with friends. All in all, it's a very convenient, clean, comfortable and interesting hostel to stay.

Top notched cleanliness and close to Taipei main station hence easy to travel to many places. Nearest train exit is Y13 which is less than 5min walking distance. To go to Taiyuan airport, go down by Y13 exit, cross opposite to Y16 exit which will lead you to the entrance of the MRT purple line train that brings you straight to the airport which is super convenient. There are many lockers outside this train station which you can place your luggage there, go tour then head back, retrieve your luggage before heading direct to Taoyuan airport which takes about 40min.
