Quiet anf friendly”

Friendly staff although little english spoken they were very helpful. The rooms clean but i would make sure to book the river view themed rooms otherwise no view. Only coffee and green tea in rooms, no sugar. The breakfast is only ok for coffee and toast with scrambelled egg which was hard and warm. The hotel is small but rooms big. 9 floors , 4 rooms each floor. Close to Fishermans Wharf and there is a 7/11 and a good Japanese Restaurant in the next street. Off topic I had been using UBER on my previous visit in Dec 17 but was dissapointed to fing UBER not operating in Taipei this time. The Taxis are good but I don’t see why the Government cannot allow people to have a choice.

Friendly staff, clean room. Agoda needs to update this hotel on their website as the name of the hotel has been changed to RIVER HOTEL for some time now ( see previous review) this can and did lead to some confusion with my driver from the airport. I was not able to call the hotel because no phone number was available. Luckily i had a very capable Uber driver.

Vacation in Tamsui”

Sunrise Business hotel changed name to River hotel. Found out when I got there. I had a room with river - ocean view, very nice. Hotel is outdated needs some remodelling, my room looked old. But is 5 min. walk from Fishermens wharf, near bus stop to Tamsui metro, quiet at night. Would be able to see sunset from room Bath room same view. Bed was comfortable. Staff was friendly.

So far I have traveled to 20 countries. I think it’s the worst experience happened Taipei. ”

關於late check out: 大多數的4、5星級酒店都可以通融到下午1、2點退房而且沒有任何費用。我因為前一個晚上看世界杯所以來不及在早上10點在hotel吃早餐。外出吃完早餐回來已經12點20分左右。但是櫃檯人員對於我late check out的請求很不以為然，還跟我說就是要收費一個小時NTD240（最後實際收費NTD300）。 Regarding the late check out: Most of the 4 or 5 star hotels can be accommodated until 1 pm and check out at 2 pm without any charge. I had no time to have breakfast at the hotel at 10 o'clock in the morning because I watched the World Cup the previous night. It was already around 12:20pm when I came back after I have my breakfast . However, the counter staff was very uncomfortable with my late check out request. He also told me that I was charged NTD240 for an hour (the final actual charge was NTD300/hour).

Best place to stay on a budget!”

A quiet place to stay at lowest cost! At least no dust on surface of furniture, powerful shower spray with hot water and spacious room! Strong AC is another great for summer! If you are a vintage love, lamps, furniture, pillow covers and even toilet seat will get your attention! A musty smell and dusty carpet are the conditions you need to BEAR!

45mins from Taipei station and another 20+ mins walk along the shore front (with many POIs) to this very cost effective establishment. Fisherman's Harbour is about 5 mins away and adequate number of restaurants, convies, groceries around that you feel like you are still in the Taipei city, yet the neighborhood quiets down at night providing a good rest. I do recommend another stroll to Fisherman's Harbour late at night or early in the morning tho.

The hotel was maybe nice back in 1973, since those days nothing really changed... Feels like a dusty time warp. Ok for a night, but definitely not more, it’s a sad place with also not the happiest staff. The only good thing was the bicycle could be taken in the room. Better hurry up with the renovation before the bridge opens...
