i had a great experience here, it was close to work and within walking distance to shopping. But, most important i enjoyed the company of the staff. Starting upon my arrival with JuBE with his warm and friendly smile. I enjoyed the fitness room and ping pong partner and fitness coach Tim. Overall my stay was great. Beautiful room”
I booked the room as a birthday present for my friend. She really enjoyed the stay and the service that made her feel welcomed. According to her, the breakfast was fabulous and much better than another five-star hotel we stayed at in Pearl New Town. All in all a great hotel for that extra something.

Wonderful stay”
The lobby staff were very kind and friendly. Location is just right for my purpose going to Guangzhou. The room was spacious clean comfortable and elegant. I loved the bathtub. The breakfast buffet could use some upgrade and improvements in the menu. Overall i was happy with my stay.

Good room, great service!”
The room was good, slightly bumped it wasn't facing the Canton Tower but then again, Sofitel's location is a tad bit further and even if the room was facing the Canton Tower, I'd be seeing the tip of it haha. I deeply appreciated the fact that the majority of them could speak English. I would recommend if you have that extra bit of cash, to book a room with access to Club Millésime. Breakfast at the 29th floor was really nice. Quiet, nice view and the staff were really friendly. (Though I am sure the staff anywhere else in the hotel would be the same) . Side note, the swimming pool was rather small. Only having 3 lanes to accommodate over 20 stories of guests. Yes, you could imagine it. Had to wait out at the side for a while before getting in which was still rather crowded. Wished they could expand their pool size. Nonetheless, this was a stay that went above my expectations. I will definitely now consider staying in Sofitel's affiliated hotels when traveling else (after COVID19 has eased, of course)

A Westerner’s Paradise”
Very clean, very modern. Most staff speak English and are extremely helpful. Great food from room service to buffet. It was a shame Le Grill was closed during our entire stay. Would have liked to have been informed before hand as we were very looking forward to it. Pool is indoors but good size with warm jacuzzi.

I am not happy with cleanliness of this hotel.”
My doctor said that I get bite from bed bug after stay in this hotel. After send e-mail to hotel, they just told me that they check and everything was ok. They offer me the room upgrade for next time. But I am sure that I will not go back to this hotel anymore. Very lack of responsibility.

Expensive for its location and price”
Bed is uncomfortable. Doors slam to shut. The management tries to be French but fails to create that feeling. French songs here, French greetings there, but ultimately still Chinese. Staff are very courteous & helpful.

Bad service for young westerners”
Business hotel - like all hotels in China. We were signing drinks to the room and were then chased through the lobby saying we had to pay although we had a deposit down. We were the only young white couple in the whole hotel and we felt disrespected with the way we were treated here. If you're a Chinese businessman you'll probably have a ball here but if you're a westerners I'd think again about booking this hotel. On our non smoking floor you could constantly smell cigarettes being smoked, I told the staff but they couldn't have cared less. Wasn't really like a Sofitel in my opinion. The buffet breakfast was good and when booking through Agoda only cost us an extra $1AUD for 2 breakfasts, not bad. Room service is a joke though, one burger, one quiche and 2 juices was $120aud - we were shocked. If you want the buffet dinner it's $85aud pp. They charge way too much here for food and they really treated us badly because of our race/age/looks.

Cockroach in my room”
Instructed manager on duty to transfer me to another room & was not done until I got back that evening When they moved me I asked whether they checked my new room to make sure everything was ok, manager said yes When I got to the room & turned on the bedroom light the light was flickering going on & off They claim to be a 5 star hotel, it seems not Their office table sockets didn’t work Their light switches all the words are suppose to glow in the dark & should be legible but we’re not The tub had a big blue mark after complaining they still didn’t clean it properly At the time of the Canton fair the hotel rate are more than double & for the price charged for the above service I will Claim for a full refund I asked for a car service early in the morning & they said that they would give me a discounted rate, the least they could do was to offer it for free for the inconveniences I ate at the CHINESE rest the description on the menu was different than what was served

there is really nothing to complain about this hotel. in fact there are so many things i would like to compliment! first of all, the decor and interior design is a one of its kind. very classy french decor, indeed. the room was very spacious and cozy, and there were plenty of light. most hotel rooms are gloomy and dark, but it was very bright in sofitel! the cleanliness and hygiene was first class. the swimming pool was fabulous. the gym was pretty decent. food at the chinese restaurant on 6th floor was fantastic! in fact we ate most of our meals there. this was the only place in the whole guangzhou which we could eat our meal in peace, without having to inhale second-hand smoke. no point going to one of those "authentic" traditional chinese restaurants such as guangzhou restaurant or hong xing, for instance, which we did, and having to end up quarelling over people smoking all over the place. we recommend you stick to restaurants in big hotels belonging to international chain to avoid 2nd-hand smoke, especially if you have young kids with you. when i complained about people smoking in restaurants, a waitress shrugged and replied back, "all china men smoke, so what? we can't ask them not to smoke and lose their business, can we?" location wise, there are many shopping malls just within walking distance. walk to the right of the hotel, you will come to tianhe bei lu where there are many small shopping malls. walk to the left, you will eventually come to tianhe lu. walk further along tianhe lu, you will come to tee mall. tee mall is more of a mass-market mall. further down there is tai koo hui, which is a more upscale mall. tianhe stadium is just opposite tee mall and is a good place to run outdoor and watch the locals performing dance, taichi or martial arts.

Truly a 5 star experience in Guangzhou”
Many hotels in China bill themselves as "5 stars" but fail (sometimes miserably) to provide amenities and service even remotely approaching that level. The Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich Hotel is a true 5 star hotel. The staff are attentive and multilingual, the rooms and public areas are luxurious, and the breakfast buffet is superior.

Great hotel with nice guestroom design ”
This is the first time I stayed at Sofitel Guangzhou,i really enjoyed my time in this hotel, the room was large and very comfortable with all modern amenities including i phone player.I was impressed by the design, deco of the hotel room, and I also like the colors.The location of the hotel is a bit far from the center of shopping and financial district of “Tienhe district” and there is no subway station nearby.The staff are attentive and multilingual.,Anyway i will choose this hotel again if will visit next trip.

Lavish hotel close to east railway station”
For the price paid this is an outstanding hotel with gorgeous rooms. Soundproof, well equipped rooms with great views of the tianhe skyline. Roughly a 20 minute walk or cheap taxi ride to east railway station, a major transport hub. Pool and gym facilities were also great.

Excellent service, style and amenities”
I stayed here for two nights in January. From check-in to check-out service was efficient and personable. Foreign and local staff were all very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. The room was modern and sophisticated and had that great Sofitel touch to it. Hotel food was better than average. I ordered room service a few times and it was served quite quickly, presented well and most importantly was hot! Breakfast selection was adequate. Good mix of Western and asian flavours. Presented very nicely. The Japanese restaurant was also good. Nice steak! Position of the hotel is quite convenient if you're arriving from GuangZhou East Station. It's less than a 10 minute taxi ride. You can walk to LinHeXi subways station in around 15-minutes. However cabs are plentiful from the hotel The gym and pool area was also quite nice. An laundry and shoe shining service were also done very nicely. I'd definitely stay here again on my next trip to GuangZhou.

Best Relaxing Hotel Stay in Guangzhou”
Stayed at this hotel before and again it was excellent. Staff are polite and courteous and as it was my wife's birthday upgraded our room and romantically decorated it with rose petals. We stayed in the Sofitel in Singapore previously and that was excellent as well. This chain does aim to please the discerning traveller and the staff, in particular Jade Wu, the Assistant Manager, have made my stay in Guangzhou one of the best that I have ever had. Highly recommended to all. Well done Sofitel!
