It's quite not suitable for family as the bathroom and toilet does not have doors. Only curtain which covers half. It's more to couple room. Some staff is too unfriendly. Theh should be more friendlier to customer.

The hotel was a nice surprise”
We checked in to a family room and it did not disappoint. It had two separate rooms with toilet in each. Each floor has a theme. The location was quiet and even if it’s not in the cbd, it’s only 10-20mins away from most attractions. I would highly recommend this to both couple or group check in.

There is convenient transport near the hotel to reach the tourist attractions. The facilities at the hotel were a bit old and the design was a bit awkward without bathroom doors and there is only very dim light in the bathroom. We didn't have hot water in the shower on the 2nd night there and the staff moved us to another room, which was not really comfortable as it was much smaller than our original room. They did help us when we requested to move to a bigger room in the end. Our room rate included breakfast yet the staff said it did not and this issue went on throughout our stay there, only to find out in the end that the price did include breakfast, but for one person only. I think Agoda needs to list out the details more clearly to avoid such issues from happening again. The staff were quite friendly though and the place is clean. Overall, quite a good place for a short stay but don't expect TOO much.

The hotel room has a bathtub which is a good thing. However, there is no door which is kind of weird. The staff is not very friendly and the hotel is far away from the train station. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the train station which is not very convenient.

Not a 4 star hotel. More like a backpacker hostel than a hotel. Clean and basic, close to city centre, so will do the job, just don't expect a lot. Does not look like internet photos. Walls need repapering or painting, carpets need replacing, Basic furniture had dents and chips. Shower nozzle sprayed everywhere. Beds hard but spacious and comfortable. Quite soundproof. Also there was no door on the toilet, and the shower glass see through with no curtain into the bedroom. We asked where should we eat and were sent down the street where we ended up buying sandwiches in a grocery store. Staff do not speak English but use translator to communicate. Tried to book a taxi to airport, told cost 300 YMB, too expensive according to our previous experience, told OK 200RMB still too expensive, They said if we don't like the cost they could call a taxi for us. Booked a metered taxi for us cost 125YMB in heavy traffic. Might have been 4 star once upon a time but has had no maintenance since.

It is a scam”
The hotel promised comfortable stay for two adults and two kids. The reality was a room with a King Size bed, which could not accommodate four people at all. There was no space for any extra bed. There was not even any space on the floor to support a person. It is impossible for that room to hold four people . There was no bath "room" but an open space toilet space. No matter how hard we tried, there was always water on the floor after shower! The total area for the vanity, the toilet, and the shower (i.e. bath "room" space) is less than 50 square feet (my best guess). They promised breakfast included for four people. However, the front desk gave only two breakfast tickets provided by a third party not the hotel. The breakfast itself was really unsatisfying. My suggestion - never book this hotel again, even for free!

Good location, awful place”
Well i stayed for a week here with my wife and 2 young children. Staff was terrible, no one spoke in english, and everyone seem to have rude attitude to guests(saw one staff on reception screaming to guest). Good thing was room had no weird smell(as most hotels in beijing do), but cleanliness of shower was awful as hell! Breakfast was not that great but acceptable. Only good thing was its location( its pretty close to Tiantan museum. I hope there are much better places than this its not worth your money.

Most enjoyable stay at the Springs Valley Hotel. The hotel staff, apart from a couple, spoke little English. However nothing was a problem to them. The carpet in our Deluxe Room was a pale colour and unfortunately stained in places from other travelers. This is not indicative of their daily servicing of rooms, as cleaning was good. Excellent buffet breakfast included in our stay we highly recommend. This hotel is located near restaurants, a pharmacy, 7 Eleven and a short interesting walk to the Pearl Market and subway. The smell of smoke from smokers could be noticed in the corridor and stairs which is common in most hotels in China. In China people still can smoke in many of the restaurants. We look forward to returning one day to Beijing and we would stay at the Springs Valley Hotel again.

Value for Money ”
We enjoyed our stay very much at the Springs Valley Hotel. We had a deluxe room. You could see straight into the toilet/shower bathroom area from the bedroom area. Staff rectified this for us with a sheet screen. The rooms carpet is a light colour and it unfortunately shows stains from past travellers dirty shoes. This was not through lack of cleaning. The bed was very comfortable. There is no shortage of helpful staff, some who speak and understand English well and others who know a little. The breakfast was excellent with a good choice of food. The hotel is close 20 min walk to the Pearl Market and nearest subway station. There are plenty of nearby great eating places. There is a pharmacy and a bottle shop nearly next door. The position of the hotel was all we could wish for.

A little underwhelming but still great value”
Springs Valley felt like a weird mix-up between a serviced apartment and a hotel. Our room was stylishly designed and fitted (better than you would expect from a budget hotel and more similar to a serviced apartment) but lacking the space and facilities of a serviced apartment. So if you’re after a nice clean and safe place to shower and sleep then this property is great. However, my main gripe is that Springs Valley oversteps its boundaries in its advertising. We were unable to get room service at any time of the day and just got told to head to the restaurant which incidentally closes around midnight. Also, the language barrier is a little tough if you cannot speak any Chinese. One of the receptionists was able to speak decently but the rest of the staff (including restaurant staff) were somewhat unable to handle requests or directions in English.

this hotel was good, we ended up in a smoking room, and we don't smoke, so you can imagine the smell. But other than that, hotel was clean, staff was helpful and friendly, location is within walking distance from temple of heaven and shopping malls. recommended for a short stay.

Nice Boutique style hotel”
English at the front desk was not the greatest but we were still able to get checked in without issue. Was surprised as I did not realize that Breakfast would be included as was a nightly turn down service complete with fruit, cakes and yoghurt. The room did not have a mini fridge or safe but when I asked the front desk about it they provided them without hesitation. The room had an interesting layout in that there was no door on the bathroom but it was not a big deal. Breakfast in the mornings was a full buffet and nicely done, all staff were very friendly and try their best to accommodate. Close enough to real Beijing family area that you can experience the non-tourist type of activity if you wish and the area was nice and quiet at night. I really enjoyed this hotel and will consider it again should I find myself in Beijing.

Amazingly stylish and friendly hotel”
We had an amazing stay at the Springs Valley Hotel. I travelled around China for 2 weeks, this was by far the best hotel I stayed in and it wasn't even the most expensive. The room was gorgeous, very modern and stylish but still distinctively Chinese and the staff were lovely.

Springs Valley Hotel offers comfortable rooms. The only problem is people's cigarette smoke seeping into our non smoking room. Our barfridge wasn't working and staff immediately replaced it. Staff are very friendly with a bonus staff member 'Lily' who speaks and writes perfect English. I think cable television, English movies and News would make a great improvement to television viewing. The hotel is coveniently located approx. 15 min walk to Pearl Market and subway station. Good restaurants all around, pharmacy 2 shops up. Banks and large supermarket 30 min flat walk or catch a bus there. Breakfast is excellent and a good reason for us to choose Springs Valley Hotel.
