A cost effective place to stay in the historical Hutong neighborhood of Beijing”
Young by age or by spirit, the Classic Courtyard is top in term of value for money. Facilities are just what you need - bed and shower room and are well maintained : cleanliness is excellent. The location is simple when arriving from PEK ( Metro to Dongzhimen then line 2 to Lama Temple). Then, very close from the Lama Temple and its metro station, the hotel is a good spring board to visit Beijing. There are plenty of restaurants around - a very good place. Besides that, this is a modest place: probably not suitable for family and for tourists looking for chain hotel facilities. On the weak side (yes there is!), the rooms are lacking sound isolation. Short story, I had in May 2019, an excellent 9 nights stay and I will recommending it to people who have their backpackers souls (I am 63).

Very convenient location a 5-10 minute walk from subway lines 2 and 5. Its in an actual hutong neighborhood in an actual courtyard building but just a few minutes walk from a major street. Unlike most places who make the claim, the staff here really do speak English and are very nice. Its a little basic but ticks all the boxes with AC and hot water. Photos were very accurate. The one downside is somewhat hard beds but this is the norm for china.

Great local with awesome staffs - Lee and Jiang ”
Room size, for this pricing, is OK. NOT for fussy traveler, again, price. They do clean up the room daily, just no exchange bed sheet, which for me is ok. The location is superb, in the middle of 2 subway station, and few mins walk to 'ghost street'. For me, the HIGHLIGHT of this place is definitely the staffs, VERY VERY friendly and helpful, esp Mr. Lee and Ms Jiang, without both of their help to call for Taxi using the local apps, we likely missed our flight on the last day. Should i revisit Beijing in the future, i will likely stay here again :)

The counter staff and ‘bell boy’ ,even the cleaners are all super friendly, they will invite you to join their breakfast or lunch.. when they know i get sick, they will try their best to get me medicine. Felt so warm and touched to stay at this place.

I like the location. Lots of choices for local restaurants, close to metro. Within ten mins walk, you can reach Costa coffee, next to a KFC. Next to Costa, it is "wu dao kou hu tong". This street offers nice cozy restaurants where you can get brunch on their rooftops, small bars where you can sit comfortably on a sofa outdoors. Price is reasonable. So highly recommended.

Went in winter and they did not provide airconditioning for the room, but had an electric heater. The room can be stuffy at times. The bathroom is basic and the window opens out to the common courtyard. There are curtains provided but there can be privacy concern if you are particular about it. Plenty of plugs around the bed, and also a wall plug with USB charging which can come in handy for portable devices.

I love the little courtyard area and the location. It's so good to access everywhere downtown as it is within the 2nd ring. Near walk to the metro station and opposite is the bus stop. Staff are really helpful every time I requested for information and guide around town. As for the room and toilet, perhaps cleanliness can be even upgraded more. Corners around the room and the toilet really needed a scrub! But other than, I am totally fine with it.

Wonderful hotel just like home !”
I stayed in Classic Courtyard for in total five days during my stay in Beijing. I thought of booking a business hotel first, but i wanted to get close to the locals. I am glad that i chose Classic Courtyard as it is exactly the place which can fulfill my demands. Which even exceeds my expectation is the wonderful service. The host speaks good English and is willing to provide good advice to guests. At night, guests can also join la petite fête (conversations) with the host. Good Chinese tea and fruits are served for free. I even extended my trip to Beijing as I felt like home at Classic Courtyard. It is located close to the metro station He Ping Men. If you're interested in Beijing culture, a walk in the hutong near by will certainly help you to get a better understand of how local Beijing people live. A wonderful hotel that you can't miss!

Excellent, great location, fantastic owner”
this is a hutong style hotel, therefore not a chain style by any means. the rooms are fairly small and close together. there is a lovely communal courtyard where the owner provides food and stories. a fantastic lady, great english and very helpful. classic courtyard is set amongst other hutongs, both basic and refurbished to provide modern amenities so no shortage of western food nearby. it is a 10 minute walk to the subway at hepingmen, a 20 minutes walk to tiananmen square and the forbidden city. everything in beijing is within easy reach.
