Very new hotel - may two story units around campus”
What a nice surprise. I have stayed in Dali several times prior and stayed in old traditional courtyard type hotels with no insulation or heat. Last minute trip this time in January and worried about the cold. This hotel reminds me of Residence Inn type of concept where the small buildings are spread around the hotel campus. Each building has several rooms and two stories. Each room has a private outside garden / patio area. The design and construction are way above what I expected in Dali at this time of year. It is on the edge of the Ancient city and you can walk to heart of the old city (Pedestrian Street) in three minutes. I was very pleasantly surprised a the concept, design and execution of this new hotel and it will be my first choice for my next trip in April (2014). I arrived in the early evening around 6:00 PM and left the next day at noon. I booked through Agoda. The room descriptions say (single bed) but that means one bed not a small single bed. My ned was a king and very comfortable.

Sixth Stay - Still Great”
I have stayed at The One Resort in Dali six times over the past four years and every time is a great experience. Excellent location - just a few blocks from the busiest part of the ancient town but the rooms are set back into secluded areas and no noise. A very nice campus style layout with individual buildings each housing just a few rooms. Security is very good and there is parking on property (Underground). A bit more expensive than most Dali properties but very classy and very clean. The road t the hotel is closed to traffic until 8:00 PM so you need to park in the parking lot near south gate and take about a five - ten minte walk to the hotel

I would recommend this resort for travellers to Dali because: 1. The location is excellent, being just inside the old town wall yet it is not far from the Gate, so it is never far to get a taxi. 2. The hotel is very new (built in 2015), clean and comfortable. But the standard room (which I stayed in) is rather small. Hotel food, spa and massage services are rather expensive. 3. Along the same road there are several decent foot reflexology and massage places worth trying.

The hotel is one of the best around the Dali Gu Cheng (Ancient City Shopping District). Hotel is well renovated, clean and stylish. No other facilities like swimming pool or gym.

the stay was comfortable and we taken a day tour with the hotel arrangement, which was personalized. as it was a raining season, the mood was dented as we were wet throughout the day. the location if the hotel was within the ancient city, close to the exit of the ancient city. throughout the stay, we walked casually, enjoying the food in the cafe, restaurants. the pace was slow and scenery was great. we even took the cart type ride within the ancient city for only 3 yuan. just outside the ancient city, more stalls and restaurants can be found.

Not that expensive! Breakfast range could be better and the staff clearly did not understand anything about a continental breakfast and should be trained. Italian coffee machine was there!!! but staff did not know how to use it! What a waste!! Overall great!!
