Great spot right on the river”
This hotel was great. Super calm and very nice area to relax for a whole day if you want. - Strong wifi - Cold AC in rooms - Shower was nice and warm Overlooking the Mekong River, so peaceful and relaxing. A bit far from the town center but owner has bikes for rent which helps. The road in Champasak is paved and flat so very easy to bike around. Would definitely recommend staying here. We really enjoyed our stay.

Amazing food and view”
Just got back from a week long stay at the View. The owners, Lek and C were absolutely wonderful. They were attentive to our requests and made sure that we were comfortable and taken care of. The place was the perfect getaway. Very quiet and serene. The rooms were simple but clean (the staff don't wear shoes inside the individual units when they service the roooms) and had all the basic amenities. Our unit also had air conditioning that worked fine although we didnt need it most nights. The view of the sunrise was much better than the pictures on the website, and many Westerners sat out on the swing sets, recliners and chairs each morning in quiet awe. The place itself is close to tiny food stands and offered several tours with transportation for day trips, biking, Vat Phou, waterfalls, and the city markets. But the best part was definitely the food which ranged from pizza (excellent with homemade dough) and burgers to Pad Thai and Papaya salad. Best place to stay in the area!

An atmospheric place to stay by the river”
This was a great place to stay in Champasak. It overlooks the river and has a nice garden and extremely friendly and helpful host, Mr Mek. The rooms are clean and have an outside sitting area. The food is good and there is a good breakfast choice. This is probably amongst the best places to stay in Champasak and is very convenient for visiting Wat Phou.

Exceptional”
Nice & clean rooms. It has a beautiful garden with great views over the Mekong. The owner speaks good English and he was super helpful to arrange tuktuk to visit the temples and a minivan to take us to Pakse airport, at very reasonable prices. The restaurant had some of the best food we tried in South Laos too!

Great value ”
The View has of course an amazing sunrise view, but the staff helpfulness and friendliness is what I'll remember most. Room was clean and big and comfortable, wifi was good, food pretty good (apart from ordinary breakfast). It's about out of town but closer to Wat Phu and Muang Kang. Highly recommended.

The View is worth the view”
We only stayed overnight here but the owner and staff were incredibly helpful and even drove us to Wat Phou, lunch, the spa and Pakse which made everything super convenient. The facilities are okay, some bugs and lizards got into the room but that’s also to be expected due to the location. The sunrise made up for any troubles with the facilities and it was one of two reasonably price places in the area, so no complaints!

Memorable stay”
We had an unforgettable stay here. Absolutely memorable. Comfortable and clean rooms, beautiful garden. Breathtaking view overlooking the Mekong. Friendly and polite staff. They tried their best to attend to us, appreciate that. We would like to thank the owner Lek for the excellent service and warm hospitality. We felt at home.

It's okay, but a few problems”
This hotel is in a nice setting, and could be really lovely. But did fall short, even though the staff are fabulous and owner is very nice. The rooms don't have proper mosquito nets, or screens in the window (and UK advice days this is in a malaria area) and when they had a power cut we were sweltering without a fan all night (and couldn't open a window). The food in the restaurant wasn't very good. It tried to be, but was not. Lots of MSG and really mediocre. However the setting (a bit away from town) is lovely. If it had a pool it would have been great. Also the rooms are quite small (and even though the place is called The View the bedrooms don't have direct views of the river. Still you get a lovely view by sitting outside in the morning, and the sun rise is to die for

Beautiful”
If you are looking for a really nice hotel, don't look further. Enjoy the sunrise and sunset with with a fresh mango smoothy and lovely food. The room is spacious and clean. But the best is the friendly staff! They are willing to help you with everything. They have bicycles, good to see the village, the island and the UNESCO Vat Phou.

Very good”
We had a nice stay at The View. However, there are a lot of works around in the garden and some areas seemed neglected or unfinished. It's a pity because the place is nice. The place is not secure for young children so you cannot let them around (especially along the riverside). The staff is nice but not very helpful ; they do not look for what you are asking, they just say they don't have, which is often the case in Laos. The director and his wife are nice and much more helpful. We had laundry done and it was a catastrophe: it took them more than 2 days to do the laundry and we had to ask for it. Everything was still stained. They did not iron nor folded properly the clothes. We would have done better ourselves in the bathroom. We had a nice stay but there are many things to improve to reach international standards.

Above average”
Champasak and Wat Phou is well worth visiting, even though can be complicated to get there., especially from 4000 islands. The View has a lovely location overlooking the Mekong but is still 6 km away from the Wat and there are no other restaurants nearby. The swings were a hit with our son! The manager was very obliging arranging the trip back to Pakse.

Great potential but not quite worth $25”
There is a lot to enjoy at The View. The rooms are quite big and clean, with a comfy bed and nice space on the front porch to relax. The bathroom is decent; clean but the shower came out as a trickle. You can tell things are recently remodeled although it seems they forgot a few details. Our biggest disappointment was the restaurant. We had read reviews that said the food was great but it was DEFINITELY not. The included breakfast was actually nice but the two meals we had there were quite bad. And they had no Lao food on the menu! We ended up walking/biking the two miles to the center of town to find more palatable options. Seriously, their food needs some work. Final thing - you are 2 miles from everything else in town (restaurants, shops, bike rentals) so they have you as a captive audience and ultimately can charge a bit more because of it. The View would be a winner if priced <$20 but at $25 it really doesn’t seem worth it unless you are in a bind.

The hotel is beautiful and clean. My kids loved the breakfast. I was very ill and the staff were so helpful. They got us to a clinic and help rearrange our travel plans. Amazing!!

Nice Place to chill”
Small resort to the south of Pakse has lain very nicely, directly with the Mekong. Miraculous garden. Nice, clean rooms with small patio. New air-conditioning, hot-water care etc. The service is not always perfect, but everybody takes care very much and is very friendly. The boss personally operate autotransport in the surroundings.

Great staff, out of the way location ”
Price of rooms was severely offset by cost of transportation to get to sites and restaurants. Mediocre food in restaurant. Sweet people work there, and it’s clean and quiet with lovely view of the river, but doesn’t compete with other more centrally located accommodations.

Quiet and Cute ”
We had a lovely stay here! It was very quiet, exactly what we were looking for. The staff were super friendly and helpful. They had bicycles on site that we were able to rent and were close enough for a nice ride to visit Vat Phu. I would definitely stay here again if I find myself in that area of the world again!

Beautiful Place”
I was there for one night and regretted that I couldn't stay longer. The ressort is beautiful situated in a natural environment directly at the mekong. It's worth to get up for sunrise. The owner and the stuff are very friendly and helpful. Plenty of possibilitys for activities.
