great sunset spot”
The location of Thoulasith is great. My room was spacious and after a multiday hike I appreciated the hot shower very much. Also if you sneak on the rooftop you'll be in for a lovely sunset view.

Good quality Guesthouse in small northern town”
Always stay at Toulasith Guesthouse when I work in Luang Namtha. The rooms are decent, the internet is not bad and the location right in the heart of town so easy to walk to the restaurants. Nice people, no hassle.

Passable, for a one-night pre/post trek stay”
On the plus side - centrally-located, decent hot water pressure, small kitchen with utensils. On the flip side - the room was much smaller than on the picture. Cleanliness was subpar - even compared to other guesthouses I stayed at in Laos. Poor Wi-Fi quality.

The room I initially had on the ground floor smelt very damp and for this reason I would not recommend rooms in the ground floor. However the staff were accommodating and moved me to a 1st floor room for my second and final night.

A gem in Luang Namtha”
This guesthouse is lovely, and has a range of accommodations. I stayed in a cheaper single room and it was an excellent deal. The staff are extremely kind, it is in the middle of Luang Namtha, and it is comfortable for the price. I would stay here again.

Everything we needed”
After reading mixed reviews, I was apprehensive about Thoulasith but found it was perfect! We stayed here twice, before then after our trek. It was clean, comfortable, had a great communal balcony and consistently hot water showers. The staff were friendly too. (we stayed in the superior room)

Recommend for sleeping!”
We stayed in two different rooms, one on the ground floor and one at the 1st floor. Ground floor was a bit annoying due the Akha ladies coming along trying to sell bracelets. Room was okay though. 1st floor has a cosy sitting area outside on the terrace. In general: cosy bed and pillows, hot shower works 2-3mins heating), fan is doing a good job. No breakfast, but free drinking water at the reception. Enough cafés and eateries on the main street. Location is central, tuktuk drivers know the place. Only real downside: POOR DRAINAGE OF TOILET! Water pressure is generally very low in the building. That's why only 3/5 for cleanliness. Apart from that, we can recommend staying in Thoulasith GH.

Decent hotel in a city with limited options”
Thoulasith is comfortable but inconsistent. I stayed there two nights, before and after a trip into the NPA, and the room I got the first night was perfect and clean. The second room, the bathroom was older, room smaller, and had an ant problem. Regardless, this is a town without many exciting hotel or hostel options and that you only stay in one night before heading to the national park so for that purpose, Thoulasith was a solid choice. After being outside for a couple days straight, my own, clean bathroom and A/C were really nice to come back to.

Really slow internet”
Impossible to book travel from my room or guesthouse lobby. Had to go to a restaurant and use their Wi-Fi. So if internet is crucial...as it was for me to book next flights and hotels...this is not the place for you. Other guests commented on this too. Other than that great place!

Very good!”
Very nice and clean guesthouse in a quiet backyard. I stayed there for 1 night in a double room with bathroom (hot shower). The rooms have an air con, a fan, wifi and towels provided. The lady at the reception was very friendly, helpful and spoke English very well. She even walked me to two nearby agencys! It was a very pleasant stay, I would always come back!

Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful, although a lady could not understand English quite well. Would not recommend buying bus tickets from the guesthouse though, we were overcharged for the tickets by almost twice. It would be cheaper to take a tuktuk to the bus station and buy the tickets yourself just an hour before departure.

Hits & Misses”
Overall acceptable relative to the fact that Luang Namtha is still very much rural small town. My gripes are very slow and unstable Wifi connection. Don't expect a spick and span room but you get what you pay for. Things do work though. One minor point is that none of the staff that I've encountered could speak even basic English but my basic Thai helped.

We enjoyed our stay, fan worked well, shower took a while to get warm but did not bother me. Free cold and hot water. Staff mostly always available and location in the centre of the town. The guesthouse is set a little back from the street so the noise was not an issue.
