Ideal accommodation with a view of the Mekong River”

Perfectly managed hotel with rich breakfast buffet, large rooms and a wonderful view on the Mekong River. The bridge in front of the hotel leads directly to Wat Phu. The staff is very helpful and you can even rent a motorbike by help of the Hotel.

Very comfortable stay - great room ”

Had a comfortable stay in a one bedroom suite, which is more reasonably priced than anything similar you'll find elsewhere in the region. Stayed 3 nights here, after having to stay an unexpected extra night from my originally booked 2 nights. Breakfast was quite good, could have slightly more western choices but it was still very acceptable. Also, proper Lao coffee like Latte or Mocha would have been nice, given Pakse is the gateway to the Bolaven plateau, Laos' main coffee producing region. No time to swim at the pool, instead on the one and only non-business related day I had, went down to the Cambodian border and swam in the Mekong there and also spotted the 3 Irrawaddy dolphins still said to be living on the Lao side. Nice excursion to the Cambodian bank to see the waterfalls from that side too. Nice dim sum dinner at the hotel's Chinese restaurant. Note that unlike Savannakhet, Pakse no longer seems to have any French restaurants. The one mentioned in the LP guidebook is gone.

Comfortable stay”

This was my second time staying at this hotel. As usual, I stayed in the 1-bedroom suite, which is really good value for money compared to most other hotels in the region. I ended up staying 3 nights and had a comfortable stay throughout. Breakfast was good as usual, as was the dim sim dinner buffet in the Chinese restaurant and the food at the riverside restaurant next to the hotel.

Best Hotel in Pakse ”

This hotel is the nicest hotel in Pakse, by a large margin. I'll preface this by saying I've stayed here several times but only in the "1 bedroom suite" room. Very comfortable bed and linens. Well maintained and clean. Serviceable internet, 2-3mbps which isn't insane but will be quite sufficient for emails and some video streaming. I've not swam in the pool but it looks clean and well maintained. The staff are very pleasant and eager to assist. Free shuttle to and from airport, which is a nice large airconditioned van. There are much cheaper options in Pakse but this is the "fancy" hotel in the region.

Great and Beautiful Hotel, a bit far from city center”

We stayed for two nights in the Hotel and we thought it was an A class hotel. The recepcionists where always at your disposal as well as the staff; maybe too much actually, it seemed too much done by obligation. The hotel is huge and has many facilities, although maybe some of them are a bit old. The breakfast was excepcional. Wifi a bit slow in the rooms. They offer a good price for motorbike rental and a trusting company.

Very nice hotel with all the amenities you could ask for”

Rooms are clean and comfortable Staff are helpful - however, they do have limited English Breakfast is fine Rooms are large, clean and comfortable. The pool is very nice (very oddly shaped) - with 2 smaller pools attached, one of a warmer temperature. Room service food is fabulous - the best food I ate in Pakse (and not very expensive). I would recommend this place for sure. There's also a large supermarket around the corner so all in one, probably the best place to stay in Pakse!

Excellent all-inclusive hotel, by far the best in Pakse”

Upon arriving at the hotel around 6pm, I was initially met by a bit of a chaotic scene - turns out a number of guests were checking out at this time, I assume that they extended their stay while waiting for an evening flight or something. There was also a busload of Thai tourists arriving so my room check-in took a little while, about 10 minutes. However, after I was handed my room key I went to my room, where I was very impressed by everything - a huge 1-bedroom suite for the price of a standard room at many hotels. It featured a large living room with 3 comfortable seats and coffee table, TV, desk and toilet. The bedroom featured it's own TV, desk, wardrobe, bathroom with bathtub. Breakfast was good, although rather than instant tea and coffee, it could use a coffee maker where you get local Bolaven highlands coffee in whatever style you prefer - latte, mocha, espresso (this is becoming more common in hotels) and organic veggies grown on-site. I also enjoyed the pool and gym.

Amazing hotel in pakse”

I was really surprised when I first walk into the room. Not only very big and luxurious room, but also there’s amazing river view! Staffs are very helpful, and breakfast is very delicious. If you go to Pakse, it’s your mistake that you don’t stay this hotel!

Relaxind days in Pakse”

Nice hotel, clean room, nice swimming pool, location at the mekong river, outdoor restaurant with view to Mecong River. Good breakfast with homemade bakery, both asian and continental breakfast. good parking facilities for the car. the only down ting was the wifi in the room, it tends to get on and off all the time, I stayed on the 10th floor, maybe the wifi is better on some other floors. I would stay there again, next time I go to Laos.

Comfortable Hotel”

We had a very pleasant two day stay here in one of the standard rooms with wood flooring. The room was well appointed, great A/C and a great view of the Mekong. The breakfast buffet was really good with many choices. The restaurant outside down by the river was excellent and there was live music. The only negative was the bathroom seat and floor were not clean. I stayed at another hotel in Pakse last year but the CG Hotel was a good choice this time, ten times better and will be where I stay next time in Pakse.

Quiet, clean, confortable, great river views”

I loved this hotel. It is a bit on the outskirts of town, right next to the bridge over the Mekong that was completed less than 15 years ago. The room was spacious and clean, nice bed, good pillows, good bathroom with strong hot water. Could not get the WiFi to work but since I have 3G on my phone it was OK. Will come back here.

Wonderful Location”

You can't beat the location of the Champasak Grand Hotel (not to be confused with the Champasak Palace Hotel). On the riverside next to the Japan-Lao Friendship Bridge, there are rooms with lovely views across the Mekhong to the hills on the other side. Staff were very friendly, with the exception of a couple of the front desk staff who seemed reluctant to deal with foreigners (most of the guests are Thai, Chinese or European). A coffee shop that is open for breakfast and lunch, a Chinese restaurant for dinner and a nice restaurant in an out-building on the riverbank that is open only in the evenings. We would definitely return.

Great stay in Laos”

Great hotel as base to explore the area around Pakse. God bed, clean room with great view over the river. The hotels Sala restaurant near the river we can reccomend for great food and service. Would stay here again next time.

You can enjoy the incredible sunsets over the Mekong from your own room (assuming you have the west facing rooms). The staff are very good. In particular I must mention Ran who is the front desk manager. She went out of her way to help us on many occasions and made our stay enjoyable. Cons The rooms are good to average for a high class hotel. The bathrooms look dated and generally need updating. The breakfast is adequate and could be better. Hardly any fruit in the morning buffet. The restaurant staff are very good but the restaurant itself is let down by a boring menu and lack of explanation of the various Lao dishes. When we tried the restaurant the food was less than impressive. During our stay at the hotel, my wife accidentally cut her finger, and when i asked the hotel if there was a first aid kit to treat a minor cut I was told that there was none. Parts of the hotel are undergoing renovation although this is not obvious from the outside.

Nice Clean Hotel but I expected more”

for $60, i was expecting wireless internet and coffee maker! pro: nice and clean staff are very very friendly well lit and feel safe easy to find since it's so big close to the bridge you can go walk in the morning nice pool breakfast was great restaurants on site (but pricy) great for business travelers con: no coffee maker no wireless internet in room far from other restaurants and night life, compare to other hotels you can't really walk out and eat at local restaurants because it's too far from the riverside where the little shops and restaurants are, but the restaurants on site are geared more towards western taste and very expensive for the locals

Excellent hotel, riverfront location”

This appeared to be the best quality hotel in the town, it suits business and holiday makers. Large rooms , great views of the Mekong.  It might be a little bit far from what is said to be the city centre, but is very close to the market and riverfront cafes. Tuk tuks are available just outside the hotel.  Service was excellent, breakfast in the cafe extensive, and a lovely restaurant overlooking the Mekong for dinner.  Every thing about our 3 night stay was excellent.

Nice view with good price”

i'm booking this hotel for business trip. the hotel facility is ok. price is not expensive. Internet in hotel is free but not stable. lobby wifi is ok but room wired and wireless was rarely to use. recommended using 3G aircard instead.

So welcoming ”

Excellent hotel. Lovely swimming pool and has a small gym. Good variety of food for breakfast. Staff are friendly and very helpful. The riverside restaurant is an excellent place to have dinner. Very good chefs. I highly recommend the seafood. The complimentary car to the airport was an added bonus.

very untrained staff”

I always stay at this hotel whenever I travel to Champasak province and I always experience a good stay. This time I booked this hotel for my family who came from aboard. They found that the room was not clean as it supposed to be in the next morning. They came to reception desk asking for a reason why the room was not clean while they did not put any "do not disturb" sign on the door. The staff ( with a very strong voice) said the guest need to inform hotel every single day whether or not they want their room to be cleaned (!?)The hotel claim their property is one of the best in town with 4 star standard where as the staff manner is not as professional as they should be.
