Hostel is clean and presentable, worth the value! What impressed me was despite an expired booking where I arrived a day later than my booked date due to the horrible delay of transport from Siem Reap, the staff still allocated a room for me to rest and freshen up before taking the next bus to Vientiane. For that, their hospitality and service have deserve a 5 star! Thank you.

This hotel is very near to the bus station. The Japanese breakfast was good. There is a Japanese bath in the hotel and the staff on the water for 3 hours just for me to use it. I appreciate this but also felt bad. Could consider to stay in this hotel again.

Very Good”

Problems getting access to WIFI but otherwise loved everything about this place. Oh also, Friday night there was this dude who parks his car on nearby corner and blasts music full ball. Don't know if it is a regular Friday night occurrence but he stopped by 11pm so wasn't so bad. Saturday night was fine.

No fresh sheets, blankets and pillows!”

I stayed in the dormitory for two nights. After one customer was leaving they did't make the bed with fresh sheets, blankets and pillows. After telling them, they were just laughing. Very unfriendly staff!

Twin room is clean & spacious.”

The FoRest Hotel was notable for its clean, spacious rooms and very kind, pleasant staff. Wifi worked well. Twin rooms same price as a double but bigger (and one of the beds is double size). Worth the step up from the cheapies. Walk in rates posted on the front door. Currently 20 USD for a double/twin, $25 with breakfast.

Comfy bed, perfect location, nice staff”

This is the only dorm I found in Pakse so as you can expect is a little bit overpriced but staff was really nice and helpful, quite room, bottom bed was soooo comfortable and I had the nicest sleep, wifi was very good, bathroom very clean and is very near from Mr. Noy where you can rent motorbike and get info to do the Pakse loop.

Comment about unfair comments”

The comment made below by Morgan from Canada is absolutely unfair, ignorant and malicious, affecting this good hotel's reputation. She said she heard "rats" making loud noises on the ceiling and encouraged people to go somewhere else. Well, I stayed in the same dormitory and heard the noise, but you know what? they are geckos, an animal that looks like a lizard and is abundant in tropical regions. Morgan, if you read this, please remove the comment. I already notified the hotel about it.

Good location”

The stay was good enough. Compared to hotels in Isaan, Thailand, Pakse is over valued in general. I am 64 years old. It turned out being on the 4th floor without an elevator was hard on my muscles. Between that, walking up Wat Phu and to 4 waterfalls I ended up with muscle strain in my right thigh that lasted 5 days and gave 3 rough nights sleep. I had been walking a lot the last two weeks so I really do think it was all the steps. So consider that when you book.

Value for your money”

I booked a dorm room for a total of $8/night from agora.com. Really good deal compared to all the other hotels. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was decent, bed was comfortable. There were four other guests in the room both male and female. There was no issue whatsoever. I could speak Laos so it wasn't hard for me to communicate with the staffs. Some speak very little to no English. The manager could understand more than the others but she's only there during the day. The major downside was that the bathing/showering area was downstairs near the front reception area. There were four shower heads but no stalls. It would be nice if the shower rooms were right across the hall like the restrooms upstairs. Also some guest was smoking in his room and I could smell it from my mine. Not a pleasant morning to wake up to. Overall, the place is clean. If you're on a budget I would recommend this place.

Water not running.”

The room smelled badly, not very clean and a bit rundown. Balcony door didn't close any more. When I went to the bathroom I had to find out that the water wasn't running. I went to the reception and they couldn't give me any information if / when it would be fixed. They did not really seem to care. We dicided to find ourselves another hotelfor the same night.

rooms were clean only problem was toilet was not so clean and in shower room there is no privacy.. but staffs are always ready to help you...

Rooms were large and spacious, aircon for our room kept going off by itself. Other than that everything else was good.

Overpriced ”

We stayed in a double room with bathroom Pros: Good location within Pakse, away from noisy main road WiFi was good Booked onward travel out of Pakse with them Cons: With the exception of one guy, staff seem uninterested We came back one night from dinner and our bedroom door was open. It was definitely locked when we went out. Nothing was taken from room though our bedroom window was unlocked too. Staff didn't believe we'd shut the door. This place is way overpriced for what you get. If they lowered the price it could be an ok place to stay

Decent place to stay for a night or two”

I stayed in the dorm room, which was a fine place to stay for a couple of nights. It's a little bit cramped, with 8 beds in a fairly small space but not too bad. The toilet facilities were really nice after a few weeks staying in places with very basic toilets. The shower room was pretty weird though. Just a big empty room with an empty soaking pool and three open shower areas. You could lock the door, but still odd. Also, it's not the cleanest, with dirt and cobwebs hanging in all the corners. The staff here were very nice to me!

Staff was super nice and helpful. It as convenient to have a refrigerator in the room. During our visit the hotel had a quite a lot of insects walking and flying around, but this is not terribly uncommon. However the house lizards left a lot of lizard feces hanging on the walls.

Don't expect to much, but good for 2 nights”

Very friendly staff! But the cleanliness of the hotel is a total different story.. I'm travelling for a long time and don't complain often. I stayed here for 2 days and didn't see anyone clean. The rooms don't need every day cleaning but there were other guests sleeping one night and the sheets didn't change the next night. Also if you can't trow toilet paper in the toilet, you need to change the bins every day. Otherwise you get a smelly toilet! 3 toilets but only 1 with toilet paper. Could be better! But nice breakfast, good wifi. Overall I had a good stay here

Nice japanese breakfast. Dorm and facilities are basic and a little run down. Not all staff speaks english, but do i speak laos? It's not their mistake, it's mine and more an advise for others who wanna complain about that
