Good all around choice. 5 Stars with a great price”
Vanburgh hotel is a great option specially for the business traveler. The internet service is reasonable, except for the usual problems with the internet in China. The breakfast buffet is honest with some options for the continental breakfast seekers. The hotel is brand new so all the installations are perfect. Nice vanity kit in the rooms and also great bed ware. Worth the visit.

A great business hotel ”
The room is huge and very well equipped. A suite in all senses. I could not believe the price. In short - go there I only stayed one night as a stopover. About 30-40 minutes to the airport (which by Guangzhou standards is not bad at all. Can't really comment on the area but seemed quiet enough and a good mix of modern (new shopping mall), traditional and local.

Consistent strong hotel for Canton Fair”
Convenient location to take the shuttle bus to the fair in 15 minutes. As well the Happy Valley mall within a 5 minute walk with many restaurant choices, and shops to browse if in need of anything. The hotel rooms are good size rooms, clean, good blackouts, but the bed is on the hard side which is the only negative I can say. The staff speaks English and are helpful. The buffet breakfast is strong, and the omelette station chef will make anything you like (minimal oil and egg whites). I have stayed in this hotel since it opened for the fairs and it is consistent year after year. No surprises.

very new hotel, still had some things to work out. staff could not be nicer, location was ok, 20 minutes to Canton Fair. room, very nice, good size, good bed. staff member Wing Tsang was great, helped me with everything. all the staff made the stay very nice.

Nice room but service slow”
The best thing about this hotel is the food - great selection of international dishes on offer in the buffet. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we had free wifi but the service was very slow. Our room was not ready at check in time and we waited far too long to get in - we were promised a fruit basket for waiting but it never came…. Not a very interesting location but they offered a shuttle service to the Canton fair which was why we were there. Not bad but not great. 5 star-ish

Quite A Disappointment”
There was not any difference in facilities or room features comparing Superior, Deluxe, Business deluxe and I took a Executive room which was exactly same size with a small little bucket of fruits which wasn't change or filled up through the 3 days. I should say Quality of the bathroom amenities was OK good. I was locked in the bath room with cold wind (sliding door wasnt equipped with lock) 7am with about 8degC . Which later found out the door was hang from top and the roller just decided to jam. Imagine if this happen when I am alone and the main door is securely locked. I must say their maintenance guy came to rescue between 5-10mins which was good. I prefer proper smoking room but was told "OK if not too bad" Breakfast was in local standard. I am a bacon lover, but it was the only bacon which I rejected in my life when I can actually scrape a spoon full of cold sticky lard from the surface of the bacon. It is actually a local hotel with a Foreign international name.

The hotel arranged shuttles for us to the convention centre which was very convenient for us . The hotel is great for business travellers and we had no complaints overall.

International Hotel with International hotel prices, but few trained staff, few good facilities for the International business traveller and the major issue was the internet it was very bad; hardly worked or was plagued by PRC Government firewalls. They are charging the same price as the Sofetel and the Sheraton... who have a VPN, ultra fast.

Not a 5 Star hotel”
Average stay. The food was just OK. Breakfast was included but if you got to the restaurant after 7pm, there were barely any seats and staples like scrambled eggs and bacon were gone and not refilled quickly enough. Room service messed up my order one night - the wrong food was delivered and when I sent it back to be corrected, the order was just cancelled. There is no mini bar - nothing in the refrigerator. The wine on the room service menu was sold out. Internet was only average - during peak times around 5pm-10pm, the connectivity was super slow.

Nice looking but horrible service”
I have never enjoyed a stay in a hotel. From the "medium" hamburger I ordered that was served completely raw in the center, to the hotcakes that they never did deliver to the bellhops actually allowing taxi drivers to overcharge and refuse to use the meter in front of them, there was nothing good about this place other than the appearance. I did not feel safe the minute I left my room and would highly recommend against anyone staying there.
