What a gorgeous experience! ”
We choose here for our healing trip and it was no doubt. Gorgeous scenery and view in front of our room. All the staff were fully friendly and helpful. They hospitality were 10/10. When we came there, there was a ceremony to inagurated their new spot for sunrise view called Sunrise hill. They asked us to join the party and the dinner. And in the morning we were the first guest who came there to enjoy the spot. Unfortunately the weather was not too good and foggy so we couldnt see the sunrise. But I guarantee if the weather was clear the view would be awesome. All the breakfast were good. We ordered Nasi goreng, Mie goreng, soto, toast. The taste were very traditional and we were looking for that. Villa Borobudur, absolutely someday will come back in the future with my entire family and stay in Khayangan village as the highest villa there.

Best for Relaxation and Quiet Time for a Female Solo Traveler ”
I celebrated my birthday here on my last day in Yogyakarta to basically relax and have a quiet time for myself. I was given an upgrade with a sumptuous dinner on the house. My suite was soooo big and I immensely enjoyed the tub with a dragon faucet. The best part of this place is the spectacular view of Merapi and Borobudur temple from afar. All of the staff spoke good English and were very friendly and accommodating. I loved the fruits served too! This is by far the best accommodation I’ve ever booked as a female solo traveler on Agoda. My gratitude to the staff at Villa Borobudur for the best day of my life since the pandemic. I highly recommend this place for solo travelers, more so for couples, groups of friends or families. There’s a big pool to enjoy a relaxing day too. I skipped that bit because it was raining in the afternoon. The price is just right for a suite suited for royalty.

Unique design and location. We could see the Borobudur Temple from the hotel, down below which is also a unique experience. There were sea of clouds at the morning time, also a unique experience. We arrived late but staffs are all friendly to assist us. Foods are good and tasty.

Central Java at its best”
Our stay at the Villa Borobudur was the capstone to an extended trip of a lifetime through Southeast Asia. The design of the facility reflects traditional Javanese architecture and is centered on the ancient Buddhist Temple Borobudur located in the valley below. We expected the views to be superlative but what was unexpectedly wonderful was the food. The all Indonesian menu provides a perfect way enjoy the environment and experience Java. Each guest selects from a diverse menu of local dishes which are then prepared fresh daily from local sources including the villa grounds and fields using mostly organic farming practices. The quality of the preparation and presentation is world class literally the best Indonesian food I have ever experienced. Almost nightly entertainments, provided in beautiful open air communal rooms' are drawn from the local community and are culturally appropriate to the setting. The staff was continually attentive but not intrusively so, well versed in English and simply a joy to be around. The Villa Borobudur is thoughtfully and responsibly well run in every aspect. Our stay there could not have been more pleasant. We dream of returning again some day.

Exceptional”
Lovely place! It's a bit of 'Shangrila'. The staff was attentive, and the food was fresh and excellent. It is located on a hill, with a panoramic view.It is away from the hustle and a bit remote. When we got within two kilometers of the resort, our driver from Jogya called the hotel to send down a car to take us up the steep road., and the car was available to drive us back down. The staff brought us to the ticketing area for us to see the temple at sunrise, and picked us up afterwards, gratis. There is a lot of loud chanting from the religious communities which waft up, but that is part of being in the vicinity of Borobudur. Definitely, I recommend the Villa Borobudur and would return to stay.

We arrived a bit late to this property, like at 8 pm. Once we arrived, the staff were so helpful, even they upgraded my room to Queen Maya type, which enabled me looking at Borobudur temple from the terrace. Room : javanesse style, spacious, and fully equipped. There is no TV (but who needs it anyway). Bathroom is spacious Facility : there is a descent pool overlooking the panorama of Borobudur town (and also the temple !). We arrived on saturday, there was traditional music play in the lobby ! Location : it is a bit secluded in Menoreh hill. Suit for those who expect quiet ambience. When we searched the hotel, We couldnt identify through GPS (maybe my connection was bad), but we asked people in the street and they knew the resort very well. On other way, you just call the hotel and they will be gladly directing you. It took 10 minutes drive to Borobudur entrance. Surrounding : javanesse village for you to see the local living, Camera House (tricked eye gallery)

As the only people in the resort we were upgraded to a private villa with a pool and the way we were looked after was exceptional. Delicious meals cooked to order and served in the villa, complimentary car to Borobudur and they even made sure the World Cup was playing on the TV. The villa itself was lovely with a magnificent view of Borobudur temple and the surrounding countryside.

Family-Freindly Resort”
Supurb view & great location 10 minutes drive to visit Borobudur . The villa is @ steep hill side with lovely view of forest. Villa also provided 4 wheel drive, very comfortable vehicle with an excellent driver to take us around the destination, and even pick up and drop off at the airport. The rooms are local style with carved timber frames and interiors and shutters on the windows. There are mosquito nets in three rooms and we have no problem with insects during sleep @ night. Local Indonesian food was served at each meal included tea, coffee and snacks at any time....It was yummy & delicious ! The staff were attentive, unobtrusive and delightful. The dining area is an open concept in local style with carved timber, tiled floors and comfortable cane furniture. My children really enjoyed the stay & we had a great time for three days in villa.

We arranged the 3-night package as a wedding anniversary splurge. The location was so spectacular that we felt that we were living on a flying open-air pavilion reaching out of the mountain jungle over the valley with Borobudur Temple and ring of volcanic cones below. Service was excellent, the included 3 meals per day fresh and delicious and the guiding firstrate. Because everything is locally sourced (from food to artwork to architecture, the Villa Borobudur provides travelers with the best of Java.We loved every minute of our stay and give the hotel a 10!!!

We had a wonderful stay in villa Borobudur and enjoyed every second of it! The villa was very spacious and clean, had a very nice private pool and jacuzzi, and a stunning view over yogya. Staff is very friendly and the service excellent; they are there when you need them and respect your privacy. Next to serving food, drinks and cleaning, they also arranged excursions including a picnic near Prambanan. You really don't need to worry about anything! The food they serve is very tasty and the menu has a lot of variety, also for us as vegetarians. A Javanese massage was included in the package (just like food and drinks) and was really adding to the relaxation! Very skilled and friendly staff who provided the massage in the villa. Only thing we had to get used to were the sounds from outside, but also this they thought about by providing earplugs. A perfect place if you want to be pampered and are looking for a beautiful and romantic setting.

Together with my husband and 11 yr old, we spent 3 nights at Villa Borobudur. We were lucky to be upgraded and had a cluster of 4 villas and a swimming pool for our exclusive use. The villas comprise 2 bedrooms, a TV villa and the dining area. The view from the dining villa is absolutely stunning with Borobudur visibly rising out of the mist in the morning. Bird, crickets and frog calls greet you all day. The staff pamper you and are eveready to cook and serve whatever you wish to eat and drink at anytime. Arranging activities was a breeeze It is great value for money as price included 2-3 activities, full board and lodging. Only disadvantages were mozzies and audio from the mosques whoch could be annoying to light sleepers.

Retreat at the exotic Villa Borobudur ”
Our villa had a panaromic view of Borobudur valley with Mount Sumbing, Merbabau and Merapi in the background which resembles a beautiful painting. It felt like a retreat complimented with the outstanding Indonesian hospitality. We had an excellent driver named Ronnie, who took us to all the destinations around Borobudur and Jogja.

We stayed for two nights to visit the temples. The location is fantastic and the suite very comfortable. Everything we could have wanted was provided. The room rate included food and we were very happy with the local food that was served and enjoyed trying new things. But it has to be said the best thing about the hotel is the staff. All the staff were so attentive during our stay and arranged all our tours including VIP access to Borobudur. There are stairs which can not be avoided. But the view is amazing.

Beyond expectations - fabulous outlook (especially for the fireworks at the end of Ramadhan). Noelle (owner) was very welcoming and the staff were exceptional - really felt like you'd been invited into someone's home. Great driver/tour guide as well....best weekend holiday in a long time! Beautiful room with a huge copper bath - felt like settling in to write poetry or perhaps a Hemingway/Graham Greene novel....hope to be back there again next year! Forgot to mention - the gamelan troupe and dancers from the Borobudur ballet were wonderful - a great way to finish the weekend....

great different hotel experience ”
We had a very nice stay for my birthday (staff arranged cake and flower petals in my room), staff was greeting us when we arrived (taxi is included from airport)and overall they are very helpful and nice. The Javanese style hotel is an experience rather than a luxury stay as its located on a mountain, bathroom is outside etc. the surrounding areas are jungle and greens, saw a lot of butterflies and tropical fruits. Spend a lot of time in the pool, one day we had 2 other couples but 2 days we were alone by the pool and just enjoyed the amazing view. Trip to temples in Borobudur was included as well as massage. It was a very pleasant different experience from the casual hotels.

Luxurious Yet Rustic”
Three generations in our family filled the Villa Merbabu which housed us comfortably. Loads of space to lounge about, yet we'd all come together for every family meal. Communal style eating was fun, loved the menus and attention the staff gave to customising to our taste. Had a personal visit from the Villa owner to see if everything's ok. Wonderful all round and right in nature, though if you don't like the open, rustic concept of no doors, no windows, this may not be for you. Villa Borobudur is a highly secure property nevertheless.
