I cannot say enough great things about Whitemoon Bungalows. As I've traveled through SE Asia, I've read hundreds of reviews saying how nice the staff are at a given location. It's usually true, but it becomes meaningless after reading it so many times. In this case, however, Chan's friendliness and attentiveness, along with his family and staff, made our stay one of the best experiences we've had in months of traveling. The bungalows are comfortable and clean and have strong air conditioning and hot water. Mosquito nets are provided and worth using. Remember, it is a bungalow, not a five-star high-rise (there's nothing like that here), but I slept as good or better here than in any fancy city hotel. The patio in front of each bungalow is a great place to relax and includes a hammock, two chairs and a table. The wi-fi is excellent. Chan is a chef and makes an outstanding breakfast with many choices. He buys fresh food at the market every morning. The pizzas are also delicious, and the many fruit juices offered are perfect after a walk home from the beach, which is only a few blocks away. Ultimately, this is a place to unwind, enjoy great food and meet incredible people if you choose to. If not, you will be left alone and not bothered by anyone. I know Chan takes great lengths to make everyone comfortable. We didn't leave Otres 2 in the three days we were there since the bungalows are steps away from restaurants, mini-marts and the beautiful beach. For me, it was perfect.

Gorgeous bungalow completed stay in Otres Village”
Whitemoon is located in otres village about a 10 minute walk from both otres 1 and 2 beaches. The village is the best place to stay as its sleepy, quiet and away from the seediness of Sihanoukville town proper. The bungalows are simple but comfortable. Hot water in a wet bathroom. Quite a firm mattress but clean and organised. Fridge and patio. Air con at additional cost. Positives: the home stay family is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is hearty, delicious and included in price. So many good places to eat around the bungalow. I felt at home. Easy to meet people or keep to yourself. Negatives: two small bottles of water only included as welcome. For the quite steep price, would have expected water provided everyday. Room aren't tidied daily. Had to ask for toilet paper on number of occasions. I stayed 5 nights. While the owner asked if I wanted my room cleaned on day 3, it wasn't (though they were quick to apologise) when I returned to the bungalow and I was given dirty sandy towels. All in all, I recommend staying at this bungalow / homestay - I'll never forget my time there.

Perfect place if you want to avoid masses of tourists”
Great location (only 4 minutes to the beach) between Otres 1 and 2 and far enough away from the masses of tourists in Sihanoukville or the beginning of Otres 1. There is a supermarket 2 minutes away and some smaller restaurants but we recommend to eat there. The food was awesome (we had amok chicken, lok lak and the local steak as well as breakfast and fruit shakes). The food we had ranged from 3 to 6 dollars, so could be a bit cheaper. As the white moon is quite new the palm trees and bushes in the garden are still a little small. It was great to sit outside, but it will be better if the palm trees will be bigger. For this reason only 4 out of 5 for the location. The room and bathroom were clean as well as the pillows, towels and bedding (5 of 5 for cleanliness). Mosquito net was available and not damaged. Got the room with aircon which was worth it (5 of 5 for facilities). Staff was friendly and helpful. Very good service (5 of 5 for staff). Campared to other places in Cambodia it was more expensive, maybe because we booked on Agoda. For this reason and because we rated only 4 of 5 for location, we give 4 of 5 with regards to value for money. All in all we can highly recommend White Moon Bungalows if you want to be at the best beach in Sihanoukville without lots of tourist!

The Perfect Place”
I spent one week and it was just perfect. The bungalows are very nice, the whole place is set up with much care by the owner. It's situated right between Otres 1 and 2 and it takes not even a five minutes walk to the beach. The food was definitely the best I had in Cambodia. The staff is really nice and the owner helps with everything. If you look for a quiter part of the beach in Sihanoukville a bit off the party people, Whitemoon is definitely the place to go. I enjoyed every minute there.

Great stay with a helpful owner. He even gives us discount on our breakfast during our last day of stay. Bed cleanliness yet to be improved but overall, if you want a relax and countryside-feel-holiday in the Otres Beach, Whitemoon Bungalows is definitely your choice!

We loved our stay at Whitemoon Bungalows. The bungalows are very clean, comfortable and modern. The place is run by a lovely Cambodian family who are very accommodating and helpful. The breakfast was beautiful and so tasty. I would not hesitate to recommend this great establishment and would definitely return.

Stay here! A home away from home”
I left a review on trip advisor but decided to leave one here, as well: I have traveled a fair amount in my life-- throughout the states, Central America, Europe and now Southeast Asia. No owner has ever compared to the owner of White Moon Bungalows, Chan. Every time you see him he has a smile on his face and greets you by name. Any ask you have, he has an answer. Even if you don't ask-- example: he saw us walk back in from the beach with sandy towels and immediately got us new fresh ones. He also books tours on site but does not pressure you to book anything through him. We did the island hopping tour which was a lot of fun. He makes incredible food, as well! They also do laundry for you onsite-- $1/kg. Most notably, Chan is very genuine. He cares about his guests and their happiness and it's obvious. We initially booked 2 nights and ended up staying 5! The only reason we left is because some weather was coming in. About the room (we were in the a/c bungalow): The a/c was incredible, it cooled you down instantly. Each bungalow has a nice porch area with cushioned chairs, a table and a hammock. Really nice soft towels, good water pressure and hot shower. The beach is just about a 3-4 min walk. Was quite sad to leave. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to any of you reading to look no further and book!

Exactly what I hoped for!”
Must agree with all the positive reviews. I mostly booked based on having a relaxing few days and a more authentic Cambodian experience - I wasn't disappointed. I stayed for five days and Chan was happy to discuss Cambodian culture and politics etc. His two little girls are adorable. The room was clean, the a/c more than adequate and the bed very comfy. Hot shower was good and nice to have the fridge. Made good use of the loungers outside. The beach is just a 7 minute walk but liked being in Otres as there are many dining options nearby. Tuktuks to either Otres 1 or 2 beach areas is just $1.50 if you don't want to walk. My stay was just what I hoped for!

Great place to stay with very helpful staff”
Our room was what was to be expected from the photos posted. Comfortable bed, great wifi. The hammock and patio area outside the room was really nice and we used it a lot. We rented a motorbike from the owner Chan. He is a really nice guy who puts his guests first. The food is 10/10 amazing. Go for the breakfast with the garlic baguette it's delicious and priced well. All in all, I'd recommend White Moon Bungalows for any type of traveller coming to visit Otres Beach. Thanks Chan!

Chan is the man!”
My brothers and I had a fantastic stay at Chan's White Moon Bungalows. The bungalow was super clean and the A/C worked. The Bungalows are a short walk to the beach and in the heart of Otres Village with enough food choices when hungry. Chan is the nicest guy ever. He answered every single question we had for him and he even cooked us up a meal after we brought back loads of fish from the fishing trip we did that day. Best meal in Cambodia so far. Would definitely come back here again with friends or family!

Whitemoon is run by a lovely family with beautiful kids, and great staff. The bungalows are very scenic, and have eveything you need, as you're a 5 min walk to a really quiet, wonderful beach. We extended our stay two extra days and would have more if we had more time in cambodia. We loved it!

Awesome place!”
I stayed here for a week. Wanted a relaxing last week in Cambodia and got that.very close to Otres beach 2, which is the most secluded of all of these. Easy to get to the islands. So a tick for location. Really nice bungalows, with great food, as the owner was an ex chef. And he was so nice and so hospitable. Really friendly guy, and bent over backwards. Cute little kids of his that are always running around smiling!! Andrew

Amazing”
I don't normally write reviews but this place really warrants one. If you're looking for a party, it's probably not best for you. If you're looking for something quiet, serene, a bit away from the main party, with a paradise secluded beach, then this is for you. It's in between otres 1 and 2 (ask your tuk tuk to take you to Legacy resort and then it's near there - not so near the market). Very, very safe, and really perfect to unwind after a busy few days/weeks of sightseeing. The owner is a very impressive chef and the breakfast is undoubtably the best I've had in Asia. I will miss this. There's a lovely hammock nestled in between the garden, which is outside well presented rooms. The owner will go out of his way to make you feel comfortable. I will come back before my month in cambodia is up, but I really hope it's here when I next return. Amazing.

Excellent Place to be”
Need to say a big thanks, who is super helpful and always put on a big smile. It is a family run Hotel. Ended up Staying an extra night there. Due to full booking I only got the room with fans (17USD) but the owner kindly provided me one more fan! :) The location is quiet, but with just 5 minutes to the beach which is inbetween otres 1 and 2 beaches. It takes around 6-7USD for 25minutes to get to the main town center. During my stay, it was the King's festival so there are many locals came to the beach side, so it wasnt what I expected it to be with fewer people. There has a mini store and a restaurant next to it as well. Totally would stay here again if I got the air-coned room haha.

Lovely little garden bungalows”
We love our stay here, bungalows in the garden, foods are awesome (pork fillet with green pepper is best!), owner Mr Chan is continuously checking if everything is ok. The location is not quite near the Otres Beach 1 which where the cafes and beach huts are, but you can rent motorbike for $5 to go everywhere. There’s many development and construction in the surrounding areas which makes the main road dusty and lots of large trucks passing by, but this hotel is not in the main road and like oasis. The garden makes up for missing swimming pool.

Pleasant overnight stay”
Stayed here one night - overall it was decent, it's only a 10min walk to the beach which is more quiet and laid back than the central part of Sihanoukville. The bungalow we had was nice - room was clean but the mattress wasn't the most comfortable, wifi wasn't working all that good...Was relieving though to have a good A/C to stay cool. The food served was decent, breakfast particularly was great. The owner was very helpful and friendly and even helped us book ferry tickets to Koh Rong Sanloem island.

Great for families!”
We stayed at White Moon Bungalows for 11 nights with our 3 children. Chan, his family, and his staff were very welcoming and loved the kids. Chan's food is amazing, he is a really good cook with generous serves unlike what we had experienced in Cambodia previously. He also helped to organise extra things like a boat/island tour and a private taxi to take us to Phnom Penh. Otres Beach is only a short walk down the main road. It isn't one of the developed parts of the beach which we preferred - it had shady trees & street food available which was enough for us. When we weren't at the beach the kids were able to play in the White Moon garden and swing in the hammock provided at our bungalow. Thank you, Chan & crew!

Great value for money”
Super friendly owner and very nice new bungalows. First time I see such well built place for this amount of money. The included breakfast is amazing, plenty of options to choose from the menu as well (1 drink included). The location is very good right between otres 1 and 2. No need for a tuktuk, but you can get those for 1-2 usd when lazy :)

Best breakfast ever, super nice Cambodian owner”
Great stay. The location is nice, just a short walk to the beach and its at the more quiet end of Otres, which is nice. Cambodian owner is one of the nicest I've met. He is very easy going, but will address any issue you have immediately. The place is very new. the court yard is a nice little place, and think with time, when the plants will grow bigger it will really become a little oasis. The place doesn't do dinners (but multiple restaurants are right next door). The complimentary breakfast is one of the nicer ones I have had in Cambodia. The owner is a former chef, which was noticeable! Highly recommend this place!
