Absolutely beautiful place Mrs Yu has. Surrounded by mountains, close to Taroko National Park ”

Absolutely beautiful place Mrs Yu has. Surrounded by mountains, close to Taroko National Park is this beautiful B&B run by a warm and lovely couple Mrs Yu and Mr Xiong and supported by Ms Lily. The place has chalets with floor beds and other rooms. We stayed in one of the chalet. They have farms of dragon fruit, Mango, bananas and other fruit gardens. The hosts are really very nice people . The breakfast is home made and Ms Yu also makes some lovely blueberry jams/preserves and different brewed teas. There is no dinner or lunch facility at the place so u need to bring it from Xin Cheng or pick something at Taroko or Hualien. But thenhosts help you to heat it up and you can sit and eat in the cafe area (same place where breakfast is served). The hosts on our first evening, offered some fresh fruits to go with our dinner. Next day evening we we're lucky to sample some of Mr Xiong's (Mrs Yu's husband) home made wine (plum &rice) which are absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!

Highly recommend! ”

We loved our stay at Yu's B&B. The couple who run it are so hospitable, going above and beyond on everything they do! Breakfasts are provided for free, which were both delicious and extremely filling. They also treated us to fruit and homemade wine (4 different types) that were out of this world good (I would buy it from them if I could). The place itself is better than what we thought it would be. Very thoughtfully put together chateaus and clean. I cannot say enough great things about our stay there and think our visit to Hua Lien wouldn't have been as fun without staying at their place. They are the type of people who you want to support. Staying there is not just another place to crash but an experience. Thanks again for everything and we wish you the best!

A very memorable vacations ”

My daughter and I had a wonderful time staying YU’s Homestay B&B for two nights. We enjoyed the beautiful environment of the B&B and the hospitality of the owners. The cleanness of the room. The suggestions from the owners to fine tuning our vacation plan turned out very great. The breakfast were tasted and wonderful. The fruits after the dinner were appreciated. We also deeply appreciated the owner picked up us from a restaurant outside the Gorge to the B&B daily after we finished our dinner.

Perfect location for exploring Taroko Gorge.”

Stayed there last October. The location was perfect for going to Taroko, but you won't be able to find it on your own from the railway station - you have to hail a cab. I later found out that they also offer pick-up service if you coordinate with them beforehand. Hence perfect at Hualien, and even more perfect view. However, there isn't anything much to do within walking distance of the B&B. The staff was really friendly and she made delicious breakfast and wine! She also ensured that we were in time for our trains, and she also helped us to call and check. We also played with her cat Lady. Overall a very great experience and will definitely book again!

Family friendly B&B”

the view, the proximity to Taroko Gorge, and the staff

I booked two rooms for two families at Taroko Yu's. Our friends stayed in one of the cabins, and we stayed in the main house in the 6-person family room. Both rooms were comfortable and well-kept. The staff here were extremely friendly, and went out of their way to help us out during our stay. They picked us up from the train station - only about 5 minutes away, and dropped us off at a place for dinner later that evening. Breakfast was simple, but nice, and we got to enjoy homemade mulberry jam and mulberry juice! The property is large, and the kids (ages infant to 12 years old) had lots of fun running and exploring after breakfast. While this place is very convenient to Taroko Gorge, it is about 40 minutes away from the main city of Hualien, so keep that in mind if you don't plan on spending most, if not all of your time at the park. As for me, I would not hesitate to book this property again!

Amazing minsu! Highly recommended! Very down to earth and kind owners”

It's a very cosy place to stay. We opted for chalet room. This place is honestly one of the best minsu I've ever stayed in Taiwan. Owners are very kind and helpful. They have a farm just beside the minsu, they run the whole show, meaning they manage the whole farm and minsu on their own. And the view at night over the taroko bridge is perfect. You can see it from the minsu. Location is slightly further away from city which is why I really loved it. Peace and calm. You can take the train to xincheng train station (taroko station) and get a taxi outside the train station. From train station to minsu is only five minutes. At night, the minsu owner even treated us his home brew rice wine. It was so good! Thank you for the amazing hospitality Yu's home stay. We will definitely stay at this minsu if we ever come back to Hualien. Highly recommended for all!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED”

Love the lodge so much although it is not very convenient to get around Hualien. This lodge is located amidst the mountainous site, the owner has a fruit farm and a cute cat (named Lady). The owner provides two ways transfer from station to lodge to station. Also, just like what other travellers mentioned, they are really nice and they let us try their wines (which tasted really good). The breakfast provided was great because of their handmade jam! Loved their mulberry jam. They even helped us buy dinner (because we arrived without food) and they have contacts for local tour operators (we managed to arrange for tours one day prior with their help and went for River Trekking and Taroko Gorge Tour with 小飛機 and friends, and had an awesome time). It is advisable to explore Hualien City on its own by staying in another accom within Hualien City Center before coming to this homestay for Taroko Gorge and a relaxing stay.

Breathtaking location, large and comfortable room and friendly ataff

Very pleasant stay with friendly staff. A little hard to find but asked the locals with the address and someone guided us there. About 2-3 minutes off the main road to Taroko and about 5 minutes away from the entrance of the park (by scooter). Very friendly family run B&B. Showed us a couple of restaurants in the area and offered us fruit. Excellent breakfast and the view is simply breathtaking. Recommended for anyone travelling to Taroko and needing a night to stay.

Extremely friendly family-run place”

Friendly owner and her family, shuttle service, clean and comfortable place to rest your head

The B&B is off the main road and easily missed, but after the Taroko Park staff called the B&B for us, the owner's son came to pick us up! Their English is very basic, but we managed anyway. The owner was extremely friendly and caring, she even made us a snack because we were hungry and the local places weren't open for dinner yet. When we left the next day, she gave us her card with instructions to call her, should we run into trouble during our hike. The B&B is about mid-way between the Xincheng train stop and the Park entrance, so it's a good starting point or place for your whole stay,

We lived in an upstair family room, the interior design was so-so, but the view from room is excellent! The area around the homestay, and the sitting room, have a really nice scenery (as shown in their photos^^) The host! We miss her a lot, she is like a mother to us, she planned our schedule for us, she has given us a big big hand on lots of things~ We also had a nice and comfortable night chat with her and other staffs there, they were all so hospitable. The breakfast is impeccable too. Yummy and content.

Staff were excellent”

Staff were very helpful. Close to Taroko National Park. Lovely large Japanese style room

Staff have enough English to communicate with and were very helpful and willing to assist with dinner options. Room was large with heaps of room to move around in and kids loved the Japanese style bedding (mattress on the floor). Had difficulty finding the B&B, were in rental car and GPS could not locate in English, went to train station and phoned and they came in their car so we could follow them back.

Close to Taroko National Park & Friendly Staff”

This is a great location if you would like to visit Taroko National Park. I recommend renting a scooter at the Hualien train station upon arrival (if you arrive by train) and drive yourself to the guesthouse and around the national park (which is about 8 mins up the road). The guesthouse is a little tricky to locate - you must take what appears to be a smaller footpath of the main road just past the beef noodle restaurant that nearby 4 way intersection. The family who owns the guest house are very friendly - although they don't speak much English, they are avid users of google translate to help you out however they can. Not many food options nearby (especially for vegetarians) and the guesthouse only serves breakfast. I recommend stopping at Carrefour on your way in from the train station to get some food for the evenings and for hiking. The guesthouse owners are nice enough to let you store your food in the fridge if need be!

UNIQUE EXPERIENCE ”

I stayed at this place for 2 days with the aim of exploring taroko national park. what i didn't expect was how gorgeous the place is. The place refers to the entire "village". staying here made me feel calm and relaxed. it was truly a must visit when one is in taiwan. When me and my partner booked this place, we only knew that we wanted to visit taroko national park but we didnt have any solid plans how to go and where to go. This brings me to the next point which is how friendly, hospitable & helpful the owners were. The lady gave us a copy of the map and gave us detailed and clear directions about where to go to truly experience the tourist spot. They even offered us snacks and wine for supper. On the second day of the stay, we got to ride on their supplies autovehicle to a place called shakadang where the owner (ah pek) cooked us taiwanese sausage while we enjoyed the clear stream of water. All in all, i would definitely recommend this homestay to you people.

You'll need to take a taxi there, especially if you're arriving at night, and just follow the google maps/agoda location. It's a bit out of the way. The couple who owns the place are a lovely retired couple from Taipei who seem genuinely interested in making sure their guests enjoy themselves. They don't speak much English but are very adept Google Translate. We spent a good half our of our second night there having a hilarious translated conversation while the hosts fed us home made wine and fruits. It was a lovely end to our time in Taiwan. A few tips re Taroko - the host will drive you to the visitor's centre in the morning and pick you up from the Taroko 7/11 in the afternoon/evening, just call their mobile number. Be aware that it's much easier to catch Taroko buses with a day pass (only for sale in Hualien) or a topped up Easycard. We didn't know that and had to scrounge for cash.

Great hospitality”

The owners of the Homestay went out of their way to ensure our needs were met. Truly appreciate their efforts and would highly recommend others to choose this place for their accommodation during their stay in Hualien.

Amazing hospitality”

I stayed at Ms. Yu and her husband's homestay as a small group of 3, and we had the best time there! Our hosts are very sincere and welcoming. Some of the things that they provided though we did not expect were: giving us rides between the Xincheng train station and their place; providing rides to and from the bus stop to visit Taroko Gorge; and treating us to their homemade wines. They even made their own onion pancakes and mulberry jam at breakfast, and the husband made homemade sausages, which we tried when visiting his stall on the trail at Shakadang. I can't speak highly enough of our stay here. What a great way to enjoy the beautiful Taroko Gorge!
